This article covers my most impressive and versatile 2027 and 2028 wings/posts that I scouted during the Adidas 3SSB tourney. The post position is slowly becoming more and more perimeter-centric these days, but these players can play both in and out of the post against any opponent on any given day. Let's examine their multi-tool skillsets a little more closely.

[player_tooltip player_id='2420169' first='Ahmed' last='Nur'] was a top 3 most versatile player I was able to scout at the 3SSB. Nur can beat opponents from either the perimeter by shooting over the top of them or using a quick first step to drive to the rim with a blow-by dribble move. He defends the interior well due to height and vertical standing reach. He can either bring the ball up the court or be a spot-up shooter, but can also duplicate as a lob threat. He definitely showcased to me why he was the NBPA Top 100 MVP.

Preston consistently beat his matchup by picking and popping from the top of the key or muscling his way to the rim via post up against contact. McVey runs the floor surprisingly well for his size and is not an opponent to take lightly, especially when he catches it on the low block in isolation coverage. He can block smaller guards shots when they attempt to drive into the lane and his physical, bulky frame comes into play when fighting for rebounds on either end.

Totu Akuentok finished at the rim with multiple alley-oops and dunks this weekend due to his extreme height advantage over other post players and his long reach. Totu sets good, hard screens and he rolls to the basket with good footwork and poise He showed that he can guard any position 3 through 5 and his wingspan allows him to switch onto perimeter players who might otherwise shoot over other players.

Joshua Leonard got most of his buckets by driving to the rim and either putting up floaters or layups over the defenders to get quick touches in the paint. Leonard handles the ball well on the perimeter and takes advantage of mismatches or makes the defense pay if left open. Leonard has a high motor he utilizes as a highflyer on fastbreaks and finishes at a high rate from all levels as a scorer.

Etinosasere was one of my biggest sleepers during the 3SSB session as he showed a multi-tool skillset on both offense/defense like a Swiss Army Knife. He drew contact on almost 50% of his possessions in the post and this resulted in trips to the free throw stripe, where he was capitalizing on the oppositions' mistakes. He rolls to the basket well off screens and showed that he can spot up from three point range if in his comfortable pocket and he attacked the rim twice against heavy pressure and dunked home the ball over the defender in the lane. He has an underrated motor, and he competes hard whenever he is on the court.
