The 5-foot-11 guard was one of the better table setters I saw; he has a great head on his shoulders and knows how to push the defenses' buttons. The rising senior is ultra-quick with the ball in his hands and has the rock on a string, so he can get to his spots in the paint effortlessly. Once he gets there, he does a good job getting to two feet and an even better job using quick, wrong-footed layups to surprise opposing bigs. He also shot the ball well from three today, though a quicker release would do wonders for him and his recruitment. Stevens will be the starting PG for Choate this season if I had to guess.

Chi is known to be one of the better shooters in the region. The 6-foot-2 wing has a quick and repeatable release that he's able to get off while being off-balance or after coming off screens—even if his feet aren't set, he's able to get a good look off. But today, it was actually his ability to get out in transition and finish with contact that impressed me the most. He had multiple nice spin moves and because of his build, he fights through hand checks and does a really good job keeping his line. Chi should find a D3 fit when the time comes, and Buckley's departure from Thayer should open up some shots for him this season.

Cyr is one of the most exciting watched in all of New England. The 5-foot-10 floor general doesn't necessarily look like he'd bust your behind, but he has major game and did lots of dominating today. His quickness and strength is phenomenal, and he's an explosive athlete when he gets going downhill. When you combine those physical tools with his IQ and feel, he becomes a pretty special creator and facilitator. Today, the lefty controlled all 10 players on the floor during his second game set by getting paint touch after paint touch and then either kicking out to teammates for easy threes, throwing no-look dimes to corner cutters, or finishing around the trees at the rim. Cyr is going to find a D3 fit and make a coaching staff very happy next season. This year, he'll be at the helm of Deerfield's offense and will look to keep them prominent after losing a good number of meaningful pieces.

Carlson was one of the most skilled players I saw today. The 6-foot guard can play on or off the ball and does a phenomenal job when it comes to understanding when to attack and be aggressive but when to set up his teammates. The Thayer Academy rising junior has an awesome handle—especially in small spaces and in transition—and he's more athletic than opponents give him credit for, so he often surprises them with finishes at the hoop. From the outside, he can hit shots and gets lots of elevation on his mid range pull up, making it more difficult to defend than the average guard his size. Carlson should be one of the main offensive engines for Thayer this season and will see his recruitment rise as a result.

Morrow is extremely intriguing for his size. The 6-foot-5 combo guard is long and skinny, but he does a great job handling ball-pressure and is a way better dribbler than he initially looks. He has shiftiness with his behind-the-back crossover moves, but the most impressive thing he does is use his size and length to see over the defense for easy kickout reads. He's a skilled creator who makes up for his lack of shooting ability with a great basketball IQ and feel. Morrow will probably end up finding a D3 fit but might just keep improving as he gets older and stronger.

Herman, Morrow's teammate at Marin Catholic in California, also impressed me today. Defensively, the 6-foot-3 wing can guard EVERYONE because of his strength, length, and athletic profile. He can contest shots at the rim, he can slide his feet with quick guards on the perimeter, and he can really stay with wings and bigs when he wants to. Offensively, he has a fluid stroke from the outside and also a willingness to feed his teammates even if he could take a hard shot—he also has big time athleticism at the rim. Herman will be an awesome piece at the D3 level and could even continue to get better if he figures out how to improve his motor.

Dodani is a WORKER. The 5-foot-11 guard is undersized, but he always seems to be around the ball making plays. Defensively, he gets up under guards that he's defending on the perimeter but also does his best to help out on the boards. Offensively, he has an odd-looking shot but is relatively consistent from three, and he really impressed today with his ability to use quickness and explosiveness to get paint touches and then make good decisions once he got there. Dodani is in constant attack mode and was one of the better conditioned athletes I saw today—he should have a nice year at Greens Farms Academy.

Genova came flying onto my radar today. The 6-foot combo-guard has an extremely well-built upper body and is really impressive when driving downhill. On numerous occasions, he used hesitation moves to get to his left hand before totally dismounting opposing players in the paint—then, once he gets to the rim, he has good athleticism and touch. But he also made good decisions once he touched the paint. From deep, he knocked down some shots and showed lots of confidence. Genova is only a 2028, but high D3 programs will be all over him in a year or so.

Today, I attended the All Academic Camp at Babson College in Wellesley, MA. Almost 500 players were present, and there were five games going on at all times from 10am-10pm.
