August is a little over a week away, meaning the new academic school year is right around the corner. The 2027 class is looking to make its mark during their final varsity season, especially in the back court. Here are the 2027 Group 3 point guard prospects who could have big winters.

[player_tooltip player_id='2504912' first='Chace' last='Redler'], 6'3 Millburn

Redler is one of the top prospects in Essex County and should showcase why during the course of the season. The Lehigh commit has a smooth release on his jumper and can knock down triples in bunches. Redler has a tight handle, which he uses to get into the lane and has a good touch in the mid-range. He moves well without the ball in his hands and pushes the pace well in transition. Redler had 14 20-point games last season and should increase that number during the course of his senior season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2202014' first='Rey' last='Weinseimer'], 6'1 Manasquan

Weinseimer missed most of the 205-26 season due to injury and is primed for a bounce-back 2026-27 season. The 6'1 guard has a clean shooting stroke as he wastes little motion and can shoot either off the catch or bounce. Weinseimer is more than just a shooter as he can also get to the rim off the bounce and is able to draw contact in the paint. He is an underrated passer and works hard on the defensive end. Weinseimer is a gritty guard prospect who should make plays at both ends of the floor for Manasquan as the Warriors look to take home a sectional title in CJ Group 3.

[player_tooltip player_id='2421373' first='Tommy' last='Calabrese'], 5'11 Cliffside Park

Calabrese is one of the top shooters in Bergen County, which he should put on display during the course of his senior season. The 5'11 guard prospect has a nice release on his jumper and can get hot from distance in a hurry. Calabrese uses his handle to get into the lane and threads passes to his open teammates in the half court. He moves well without the ball in his hands and gets deflections on the defensive end. Calabrese is a sharpshooting guard prospect who should torch the nets from distance this winter.

[player_tooltip player_id='3544142' first='Adin' last='Goldschneider'], 5'11 Tenafly

Goldschneider had a breakout 2025-26 season and is looking to build on that during his senior season. The 5'11 guard has a nice handle, which he uses to beat his defender off the bounce and finished strongly around the rim. Goldschneider can also score in the mid-range and can knock down open jumpers from behind the arc. He used his court vision to find open teammates in the half court and used his quick hands to get deflections on the defensive end. Goldschneider is a skilled guard prospect who should fill up the stat sheet throughout the course of the season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2431432' first='Abdourahmane' last='Bah'], 5'10 Camden Eastside

Bah has the potential to have a breakout senior season as he should have the ball in his hands more this season. The 5'10 guard played with composure on the ball as he rarely got rattled by on-ball pressure and made smart decisions with the ball in his hands. Bah has a good release on his jumper and sets his feet before he shoots. He can also play off the ball and is a tough on-ball defender. Bah's ability to run the offense efficiently will be key for Camden Eastside to make a deep postseason run.

Other Prospects to Track:

[player_tooltip player_id='3585679' first='Tyler' last='Luciano'], 6'1 North Hunterdon

[player_tooltip player_id='2933620' first='Luis' last='Guzman Martinez'], 6'0 Cliffside Park

[player_tooltip player_id='3592101' first='Sidney' last='Richards'], 6'2 Burlington Township

[player_tooltip player_id='2884256' first='Corey' last='Begleiter'], 6'1 Northern Highlands

[player_tooltip player_id='3529124' first='Jonah' last='Turner'], 5'10 Clearview
