UH Team Camp: Must Watch Players and Top Stock Risers

This article is a continuation of my coverage at the University of Houston team camp on Saturday. There were 10 players in attendance overall who caught my attention, some I had watched play before, and some were new to me. The classes of 2027-2029 were having impressive showcases all weekend and here were some of my standouts from the camp overall.    I loved the inside-out play of 2029 forward [player_tooltip player_id='2404481' first='Felix' last='Okam'] for Houston Hoops 15u. Takes advantage of mismatches well and scores efficiently under the rim. He knocked down some midrange jumpers and blocked shots in the paint. Uses his height to rebound over opponents well and box out taller matchups. He was quick off the pick and roll going to the basket and made his presence known in the game by scoring isolation post ups and securing the defensive interior.     Terrance makes a case after this weekend as one of the top 15u guards I have watched all summer. Johnson is a blur on fastbreaks and makes things happen while scoring from all three levels. He runs the offense from either guard slot efficiently and shows why his IQ is one of the best coming out of the 2029 class. Averaging 13 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists on the EYBL circuit for Houston Hoops, Terrance displays toughness and smarts on both ends and continues to make a huge impact.     [player_tooltip player_id='3624682' first='Grant' last='Maher'] is a good all-around guard who displays fundamental perimeter defense, finishing at the basket, and poised ballhandling under pressure. Standing 6'3 at the two-guard slot, Grant uses size and wingspan to get past defenders to his spots and either spot up or drive to the rim and draw contact. I liked his physicality on the perimeter and willingness to not let ballhandlers be comfortable in a half-court setting.     Quintyn was a smart lead guard who ran the one slot for much of College Park's game against Kingwood. Buckmon displays floor spacing and high instincts on the offensive side of the ball, and he will never hesitate to make the one extra pass to an open teammate. He has the ability to either speed up or slow down during transition opportunities and always has the court vision to know who is open on either backdoor cuts or for perimeter threes.     Joshua brings a calm, poised presence to the combo guard slot every game for the Grand Oaks Grizzlies. He controls the pace of each offensive possession and knows how to maintain the right tempo to keep his team with the momentum. He knocked down tough shot after tough shot off the dribble and showcased quick decision making and IQ in the clutch. Walker knows how to make smart passes in transition and can hurt defenders from either the point or shooting guard slots.
