-One of the more intriguing long term prospects of the week, Okam had some really nice flashes as a forward prospect capable of putting the ball on the floor that uses long strides to get from 3 point line to rim with relative ease. Okam knocked down a few perimeter jumpers off the catch to show his long-term upside as a pick n pop big, showed good hands to come up with some tough catches in traffic, and served as an effective finisher around the rim with either hand. Okam flashed some nice skill with short floaters off of spin moves on the baseline, utilized his pivot well around the basket, and even took a defensive rebound C2C before throwing a beautiful lob to a teammate at the rim from the free throw line. Although I wouldn’t call him a physical specimen as a leaper or with a strong upper body, he moves very well for his size as a young forward prospect that continues to grow. 

Okam’s combination of size, length, athleticism and fluidity as a rim-runner and transition finisher made him an effective slasher and finisher in the open court. The 6-foot-9 rising sophomore was most effective on the defensive end where he controlled the paint with his rebounding ability and his instincts as a rim protector. Okam blocked and altered shots around the rim and used his length to get tips on passes which led to him averaging 2.6 blocks and 2.2 steals per game during Session IV.

The top center in the state continues to showcase why he’s one of the most unique prospects in the country. Felix Okam Felix Okam 6'9" | C Grand Prairie | 2029 TX continued to prove why he possesses one of the highest ceilings in the class. Beyond his tremendous size and extraordinary wingspan, it was his impressive mobility that allowed him to impact the game all over the floor. Offensively, he continued flashing intriguing ball skills, touch, and the ability to handle the basketball in space, highlighting his long-term upside and versatility. On the glass, he consistently pursued putback opportunities and showcased a knack for finishing with powerful putback dunks.

Felix Okam Felix Okam 6'9" | C Grand Prairie | 2029 TX is a unique prospect who showcased ballhandling like a guard and a clean jump shot form in Grand Prairie’s Friday game against Weiss. This was my second time getting to watch Felix and he is a 2029 prospect who is nationally ranked in ESPN for good reason due to his Swiss knife skillset. He can hit perimeter jumpers over closing out defenders, help handle the ball against full court defense, and swat opposing players shooting in the paint. Having an effective summer with Houston Hoops EYBL , Felix looks to continue his momentum-changing play as we near the end of the summer coming up soon.

His one-dribble drop-step spin into a push shot was fantastic and showcased just how high of a ceiling he truly has, especially on the offensive side of the ball where his skill set continues to expand. He also showed off a consistent high and wide underhanded finish that highlighted his touch and reach against pressure and through traffic. After a couple of swats and a pin off the backboard, Okam forced opponents to think twice before committing to the drive. Even when he wasn’t directly in front of the play, penetrators instinctively looked over their shoulders before going up. As players began settling for pull-ups and short-range jumpers, he stretched out and displayed the timing to block jump shots and send several flying back down the court.

A high-potential, high-upside center with all the tools and physical traits to become a highly touted frontcourt prospect. Okam displayed phenomenal mobility and agility, moving with impressive fluidity in all aspects of the game. His ability to cover ground stood out immediately, particularly as a chase-down shot blocker where his timing was impeccable. Using his massive reach, Okam pinned shots off the glass and erased scoring opportunities, flashing the type of defensive upside that projects well at the next level.

I loved the inside-out play of 2029 forward Felix Okam Felix Okam 6'9" | C Grand Prairie | 2029 TX for Houston Hoops 15u. Takes advantage of mismatches well and scores efficiently under the rim. He knocked down some midrange jumpers and blocked shots in the paint. Uses his height to rebound over opponents well and box out taller matchups. He was quick off the pick and roll going to the basket and made his presence known in the game by scoring isolation post ups and securing the defensive interior.

Okam established himself as one of the premier interior defenders from Day One with his ability to control the paint defensively. He averaged 8.5 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 blocks while consistently altering shots around the rim with timing and physicality. Offensively, Okam finished efficiently near the basket and created second-chance opportunities through rebounding activity. He also ran the floor hard in transition and maintained strong energy throughout interior possessions. His rim protection immediately changed games defensively.

As his offensive skill set expands—particularly with the addition of floor spacing—his ceiling will continue to rise. His foundational traits give him a strong baseline for long-term development.
