Top 2026 Lincoln Williams Commits to Illini
The #1 overall player in the state of Illinois in the 2026 class Kankakee's Lincoln Williams has made his college commitment as he has committed to Illinois.
It was a long road to get here, but once he exploded moving up to the top spot during the summer heading into his junior season Illinois appeared to be his preferred destination. He visited there a ton of times seeing the Illini in person over the last couple of seasons where they have had great success.
Williams was the top prospect on the board in the 2026 class finishing at #1 holding down that distinction since taking over in the summer of 2024. He is the type of two way wing that every school is looking for with his length, athleticism, three level scoring, and intensity. As a senior he posted 26 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals, and 2 blocks per game.
This is an out of this world late pick up for the Illini giving them a young wing that could play some minutes next season coming off the bench for a top 5 preseason team nationally. He has the type of ability to develop into an impactful Big 10 wing down the line! Great situation for Williams to continue to get stronger and play against future pros every day in practice. Also noteworthy the Illini have the #1 player from both Illinois and Missouri in the 2026 cycle as they also have Principia (MO) guard Quentin Coleman coming in who is actually from O'Fallon, Illinois.
