[program_tooltip program_id='2075672' first='Minnesota' last='Fury'] Wilde won the NHR State title and had two really big wins on the way to doing it: they beat Pack who just about every top team in the state of Minnesota has played and only two teams have beaten (Fury and Hoop Habits) and then Fury beat Hoop Habits in the final. Big weekend for them.

Powerhouse Minnesota entered the season with a 50 percent winning percentage over 20 games and left the weekend with a 60 percent winning percentage after 25 games! How? They won all five games earning the second division title. They won the title game by a score over Tru North. Great weekend for Powerhouse.

Top 3-1/4-1 Weekends

Another big weekend from [player_tooltip player_id='2559428' first='Taaj' last='Whitlock'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2848521' first='Tyler' last='Chapek'] helped [program_tooltip program_id='2075485' first='Gain' last='Elite'] win three of four, and they lost the one game to [program_tooltip program_id='2075802' first='Pure' last='Prep'] in Iowa by a basket. Another strong showing from a good team.

[program_tooltip program_id='2076003' first='West' last='Central United'] were three of four and while they may have lost to the runner up Hoop Habits team, they did get two really nice wins beating Comets Elite and Hoop Troop. A good weekend for them.

Minnesota Rise might have shown as much improvement as any team in 16u. They lost to [program_tooltip program_id='2076003' first='West' last='Central United'] by only a point in round one and then bounced back to beat [program_tooltip program_id='2076005' first='West' last='Central Wildcats'], Fury Hibbs, and the 204 Elite Canadian team with talent that didn't fare too well this weekend.

Tru North is a team from Wayzata that has really done a nice job at 16u this year. This past weekend they beat SE Minnesota Stars (now Southwest, there is a Southeast too!) and teams from Crossfire, Central and Wildcats to get to the title game before losing to Powerhouse by a score in the title game. Nice weekend for Tru North.

Now.... maybe the Wayzata mom can wait and yell at me in the gym next time instead of when I am trying to eat at Chipotle.

Next Up

That would be the Tune Up on July 2-3 and let me tell you, that event is looking like the best of the best as a warm-up. So maybe wait to take your cabin trip and get a big time basketball game or two in before vacation. You have all summer to vacation, you only have so much time to compete against the best!
