The shooting guard position in the 2027 class was one of the deepest groups on display at the TABC Showcase. While the position continues to evolve toward versatility and positional size, the common trait among the top performers was their ability to impact winning in multiple ways. Whether it was scoring at all three levels, defending multiple positions, rebounding outside their area, or creating offense when possessions broke down, these prospects separated themselves throughout the weekend. Several guards elevated their stock significantly by proving they possess the physical tools, skill, and competitiveness that college coaches covet in today's game.

[player_tooltip player_id='2252157' first='Isaiah' last='Santos'] was clearly the most impactful shooting guard I evaluated throughout the weekend. He affected the game in virtually every category, defending at a high level, rebounding consistently, and scoring efficiently from all areas of the floor. Santos repeatedly got downhill to finish through contact while also displaying a reliable perimeter jumper that kept defenses honest. His combination of positional size, athleticism, and competitive motor allowed him to impact winning on both ends of the floor. He looked every bit like one of the premier wing prospects in the 2027 class.

✅ Elite two-way impact
✅ Physical downhill scorer
✅ High-level defensive versatility

[player_tooltip player_id='2350487' first='Drew' last='Guy'] put together a strong weekend by showcasing his ability to score at all three levels. He consistently created offense off the bounce, knocked down perimeter shots, and displayed the athleticism to finish above the rim in traffic. His confidence as a scorer stood out, but equally impressive was his ability to play within the flow of the offense while making timely plays. Guy's blend of size, skill, and athleticism continues to make him one of the more intriguing shooting guards in Texas.

✅ Three-level scoring ability
✅ Explosive athleticism
✅ Shot creation upside

[player_tooltip player_id='2555516' first='Jayce' last='Griffen'] once again demonstrated why he is considered one of the most complete guards in the state. He played with physicality throughout the weekend and consistently impacted winning on both sides of the basketball. Griffen defended multiple positions, attacked the glass, and provided reliable scoring when his team needed offensive production. His toughness, versatility, and willingness to embrace difficult assignments continue to separate him from many of his peers.

✅ Physical two-way guard
✅ Winning intangibles
✅ Defensive versatility

[player_tooltip player_id='2555829' first='Brodrick' last='Wyatt']'s motor and physicality were impossible to ignore throughout the weekend. He consistently impacted games with his defensive intensity while also showcasing his ability to score effectively at all three levels. Wyatt attacked closeouts aggressively, finished through contact, and created offense both on and off the ball. Defensively, his toughness and energy helped shift momentum repeatedly. His overall production reinforced his status as one of the toughest guards in the class.

✅ Elite motor and competitiveness
✅ Three-level scorer
✅ Physical perimeter defender

[player_tooltip player_id='2354359' first='Johnny' last='Green'] had another productive weekend, utilizing his length and offensive versatility to create mismatches. His ability to score from the perimeter, attack the basket, and operate effectively in the midrange makes him a difficult cover. Green's long frame and developing skill set give him tremendous positional flexibility, while his confidence as a scorer continues to improve. He consistently demonstrated why his long-term upside remains very intriguing.

✅ Positional size and length
✅ Three-level scoring ability
✅ Offensive versatility

[player_tooltip player_id='2198620' first='Romejo' last='Waits'] proved once again that he can generate offense at a high level. He displayed a polished offensive package throughout the weekend, consistently creating quality shots for himself while maintaining efficiency. His handle allowed him to get to his spots comfortably, and he scored effectively at all three levels. Waits' ability to create offense both in transition and in the half court makes him one of the more dynamic scoring guards in the class.

✅ Dynamic three-level scorer
✅ Advanced ball handling
✅ Shot creation ability

[player_tooltip player_id='2624468' first='Reid' last='Robinson'] continues to show steady development and may have one of the more intriguing trajectories among shooting guards in the class. His strong frame allows him to absorb contact and finish effectively, while his perimeter shooting has become an increasingly dangerous weapon. Robinson also demonstrated his athleticism throughout the weekend, making several plays above the rim and impacting games in transition. Throughout the weekend, he consistently impacted winning by making the right plays, whether it was creating offense, defending opposing guards, or making timely decisions in transition. Urune's ability to guard at a high level on the perimeter stood out, as he routinely disrupted opposing ball handlers with his length and activity. Offensively, he played within the flow of the game while utilizing his athleticism to create advantages and generate quality opportunities for himself and his teammates. His combination of physical tools, defensive upside, and winning intangibles gives him tremendous long-term potential.

✅ High-level perimeter defender
✅ Athletic playmaker with upside
✅ Impacts winning in multiple ways
