I was able to attend the prestigious Section 7 event in Mesa, Arizona. I saw numerous games featuring loads of talent from both the regular and prep school divisions. Here are some of the standouts from the event.

[player_tooltip player_id='2276223' first='Kingston' last='Montague'] Basha:

The scoring guard out of Basha was putting everyone on notice. He was really showcasing his 3-level scoring ability. His off-the-dribble pull-up three is quite impressive. He has crafty finishes around the rim. He will continue to get others involved and will only improve.

[player_tooltip player_id='2466738' first='Dewey' last='Henry'] Ironwood:

Another scoring guard was a huge factor for his team. Despite the height difference in most of Ironwood's games, Dewey kept them in it. His elite shotmaking ability allows him to get his shot off over anyone. He uses his body well inside the paint and converts. He works hard on defense, and the ball ends up in his hand. He will continue to lead this team.

[player_tooltip player_id='3149607' first='Somto' last='Patrick'] Modesto Christian:

Somto has been an absolute force on the boards. He rebounds with great force on both sides of the ball. He finishes extremely well around the rim and embraces contact. Somto is a presence in the paint, deterring many people from coming into it. He will be someone to watch for the next couple of years.

[player_tooltip player_id='2194803' first='Pierce' last='Harrington'] St. Mary's:

A recent transfer to St. Mary's from a division rival, Saguaro, looked quite at home at Section 7. He is a super-athletic guard who looks to attack in transition and also blocks shots at the rim. He can attack the basket hard, but can also hit the jump shot. He will continue to be a valuable piece for this St. Mary's team.

[player_tooltip player_id='2532089' first='Darren' last='Ford'] AZ Compass:

The strong guard has been super impressive within these prep school games. He is a pass-first guard who makes all the right reads. He looks to shoot off the catch and has a nice midrange. He gets into the paint with ease and is capable of finishing around bigger opponents. He is someone whose national ranking will continue to skyrocket as the season goes on.

[player_tooltip player_id='2812559' first='Amare' last='Chandler'] AZ Compass:

He is a very skilled wing who plays super hard. He can score it from the perimeter but will also attack inside and finish. He plays hard on defense and is an elite defender. He has quick hands that he uses to guard 1-4. He is a high-IQ player and uses that to his advantage. Amare will be an X-factor for AZ Compass this year.
