Let's talk about a couple more Washington squads gearing up for the NW June D1 Recruiting Event this weekend. Sunnyside had its best season since 2017-18 and qualified for the opening round last year's 4A state tournament. They are led by 2027 guard [player_tooltip player_id='2384270' first='Aiden' last='Sanchez'] who returns for his senior season. Tahoma was a tough team all of last season, losing just two games in state by double-digits. They lose some key guys from last year's team but have a handful of younger players ready to claim larger roles.

Sunnyside (WA)

Classification: 4A

2025-26 Record: 15-9

Key Players

[player_tooltip player_id='2384270' first='Aiden' last='Sanchez'] 5-11 PG 2027

Sanchez will lead the way in a lot of categories for the Grizzlies and a lot of it comes down to just his competitive nature. A lot of his buckets will come around the paint and he likes to post up too and go to work. But aside from being a key scorer and playmaker for them, he's also one of their key rebounders who will attack the ball and look to push on possession changes.

[player_tooltip player_id='2173769' first='Julian' last='Villanueva'] 5-11 2027

Villanueva is another guy on this Sunnyside team that will contribute with some buckets. Can hit the outside shot but will mix in drives, has the upper body strength to take some contact and does a good job utilizing space in the short to midranges to hit shots.

Tahoma (WA)

Classification: 4A

2025-26 Record: 12-12

Key Players

[player_tooltip player_id='2879483' first='Ka'eo' last='Alo'] 5-8 PG 2029

Alo is a guard who will play tough on ball defense and has some legit quickness to attack his man on both ends of the floor. Likes to get around the paint and make things happen, has a decent midrange shot, and just plays aggressive all over the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id='2926377' first='Trever' last='Stonerock'] 6-6 SF 2029

Stonerock is a kid to watch on this Tahoma team. He had a solid freshman season and has already made some good strides over the spring. He's got the size of true wing player, can attack from the perimeter, drop in some threes, and handles the ball pretty well. Starting to make more plays all over the court and showcases some pretty high potential.

[player_tooltip player_id='2384348' first='Jake' last='Moen'] 6-2 CG 2027

Moen will lead this team again in the winter. He's a good all-around player who plays solid with the ball, is strong, can finish inside through some contact or splash in threes at a good rate. He does a good job controlling the flow they play with and making smart decisions with the ball.

Joey Krolick 6-7 PF 2028

Krolick is a candidate to pick up some more minutes in their front court this winter. He's a big who will work to get open, work to get position, and is a decent rebounder inside. Has a good looking stroke too and will knock down some shots around the elbows and has the range to step out and hit some threes.

[player_tooltip player_id='3636178' first='Mason' last='Nettleton'] 5-11 PG 2029

Nettleton is a sneaky guard in this 2029 class who can really stroke it from outside. More than just a shooter though and has some good upside as another option at point guard. He's efficient with his touches, doesn't over dribble or hold onto the rock, and picks his spots attacking gaps really well.
