NW June D1 Event Primer: Jesuit, Kennedy Catholic

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Jesuit (OR)</h3>   Classification: 6A   2025-26 Record: 22-8   Key Players   [player_tooltip player_id='1961798' first='Major' last='Williams'] 6-0 PG 2027   Last year's returning scorer for Jesuit, Williams is a dynamic scorer who can really got hot from the outside or convert strong drives to the hoop absorbing all sorts of contact. An outstanding on-the-ball defender, he recently attended Elite Camp at Austin Peay and was named the MVP.   [player_tooltip player_id='2047153' first='Penny' last='Harrison'] 5-11 PG 2027   Williams' backcourt mate is Harrison, who is a slick ball-handler and passer who can also provide offensive spark from time to time. He's a continual pest on the defensive end when Jesuit applies their pressure schemes and his quick hands are capable of creating turnovers.   [player_tooltip player_id='2891734' first='Jack' last='Wilson'] 6-2 G 2027   The quarterback for the Crusaders football team, Wilson is an outstanding shooter, particularly from the corners. A prototypical Jesuit basketball player, he moves well without the basketball, plays unselfishly, and is a solid team defender.   [player_tooltip player_id='2512517' first='Christian' last='Lowe'] 6-3 G 2027   Jesuit doesn't have a true post player but Lowe will take care of many of the team's inside duties. He's a good athlete with a solid motor, allowing him to be an effective rebounder and defender in the paint. He runs the floor and finishes well in transition.   <h3 class="wp-block-heading">Kennedy Catholic (WA)</h3>   Classification: 4A   2025-26 Record: 11-12   Key Players   [player_tooltip player_id='2140866' first='Zion' last='Stone'] 6-2 PG 2027   25-26 Stats: 21.0 pts 4.5 rebs 3.4 ast 2.9 stl   Stone led Kennedy in scoring last season while shooting 49% FG, 40% 3PT, and 75% FT. He's going to head there attack while playing a solid two-way game. While he is a high-percentage long-distance shooter, he will also work to the foul line and put pressure on the interior defense.   [player_tooltip player_id='2445284' first='Jordan' last='Noel'] 5-11 PG 2027   25-26 Stats: 5.0 pts 3.0 rebs 2.5 ast 2.6 stl   Noel is a speedy point guard who can shoot gaps and apply pressure up and down the floor on ball handlers. He's a D1 football recruit who displays that athleticism in the open court and with his lateral quickness in the half-court. He's really important to their team defense and ability to get the bal up the floor quickly.   [player_tooltip player_id='3337179' first='CJ' last='Lambert'] 6-3 SG 2027   25-26 Stats: 14.7 pts 5.3 rebs 2.4 ast 2.0 stl   Lambert led the Lancers with 65 3PM last season, hitting at a 35% clip. He's a reliable floor stretcher who did a lot of his work beyond the arc, spotting up to receive kickouts, but he's also got the ability to be an all around scorer and has a knack for creating shots and being aggressive with his touches.   [player_tooltip player_id='3585264' first='Enoch' last='Pellum-Berry'] 6-6 PF 2027   25-26 Stats: 5.4 pts 5.1 rebs   The 6-foot-6 forward is a solid defender and rebounder, while showing he can defend posts or wings. You can count on him to attack the glass, be a physical presence inside, and be active in transition.   [player_tooltip player_id='2548205' first='Grady' last='Pond'] 6-0 PG 2028   Pond has a smooth handle, and although the twins sport similar styled games, Grady is more of a pass-first guard. He does a good job picking out cutters from the perimeter and has the ability to create and attack gaps off the bounce. A pretty solid all-around guard who should give the Lancers some more depth this winter.   [player_tooltip player_id='2548220' first='Walter' last='Pond'] 6-0 SG 2028   Pond has a solid approach to the game and has really good patience when attacking, not forcing up many shots, and having the presence to pick out passes after when drives get stuffed up. Can score well around the paint, drop in some threes, and like his brother, possesses an all-around skill-set for a guard.
