The elder statesmen of high school basketball are now the Class of 2027.

Enjoy our latest player rankings of this class of soon-to-be seniors. Rankings are subjective and PrepHoops.com ranks purely upon potential and where the player will be at their basketball peak. Production factors in only when helping prove the potential is greater or lesser.

Peruse the complete 2027 rankings.

Top Newcomers

[player_tooltip player_id='3561094' first='Miles' last='Brown'] [PICTURED ABOVE] led his Westview Chargers to their program's first and only State Championship Game in the school's 101-year history. Westview High defeated both Gatlinburg-Pittman and Smith County before ultimately losing 61-52 to dynastic Sentinels of Chattanooga Prep. He was not alone. They also featured [player_tooltip player_id='3561093' first='Asa' last='Barnes'], Arden Smith, and [player_tooltip player_id='3560366' first='Graham' last='Simpson']. Sadly, for us, Miles, Asa, and Graham are all gonna wind up as "football guys". So, we may never see Miles or Asa play basketball.

[player_tooltip player_id='3654539' first='Matthew' last='Dickens'] enjoyed a big spring. In March, Dickens was the sixth man for a state tournament quarterfinalist Farragut side. Facing Walker Valley in the quarterfinals, Dickens scored eight points in 17 minutes though FHS did lose.

[player_tooltip player_id='3570615' first='Ian' last='Allen'] (Body-Buchanan) and [player_tooltip player_id='3506185' first='Jamere' last='Williams'] (Morristown West) both impressed the recent PrepHoopsTN Combine EAST and made their Class of 2027 debuts afterwards. Ian was and is very muscular as a wing for Boyd-Buchanan. Jamere is also a wing, but bouncier and often plays above the rim. The two worked very hard and each made the All-Star Game with their skills and efforts.

[player_tooltip player_id='3506185' first='Jamere' last='Williams'] is a high-character kid, according to the Mo West coaching staff. It showed on the day too. He is enjoying some college interest at this point: Walters State Community College, Johnson University, Roane State, University of Alabama Huntsville (UAH).

[[player_tooltip player_id='3570615' first='Ian' last='Allen']] was very strong, physical. He put the effort into the weight room. Ian can really finish after contact. Fantastic at using his left shoulder to keep down the defender when he rose for a right-handed baby hook. Ian's body control around the lane was the best in the gym. [player_tooltip player_id='3570615' first='Ian' last='Allen'] was one of the few attendees to set a high screen without prodding. - PrepHoopsTN Combine Evaluation

[player_tooltip player_id='2392984' first='DJ' last='Dallas'] (Northwest) can really shoot the ball. He is a touch short for a college 2-guard, but when you can shoot like him somebody will find a spot for him. Dallas moved into the rankings from the Watch List this go around.

[player_tooltip player_id='3482753' first='Cooper' last='Estep'] (Columbia Academy) played solidly as a junior. The post player averaged 16.0 points per game on 59% shooting from the field. He can really score the basketball around the basket at his current level. The knock on his future will be position. Cooper is really a power forward/center and stands 6-foot-4, so it is tough to project him beyond high school. Regardless, Cooper deserves to be ranked and will be an impact player for Columbia Academy this coming year.

Notable Newcomers
[player_tooltip player_id='2865808' first='Miles' last='Helton'] (Middle College)
[player_tooltip player_id='3670483' first='Jon' last='Hightower'] (Forrest)
[player_tooltip player_id='3482753' first='Cooper' last='Estep'] (Columbia Academy)

PrepHoopsTN Combine Campers - Ranking Newcomers
[player_tooltip player_id='3506185' first='Jamere' last='Williams'] (Morristown West)
[player_tooltip player_id='3657392' first='Jaxson' last='Gonzalez'] (McMinn County)
[player_tooltip player_id='3668559' first='Mylan' last='Harris'] (Lighthouse Christian)
[player_tooltip player_id='3654692' first='Malachi' last='King'] (Cleveland)

Peruse the complete 2027 rankings.
