Logan’s Under the Radar Prospects from Charlie Hughes

The June Scholastic period for Indiana High School Basketball is coming to an end, but not before the biggest live period event in the state in the Charlie Hughes Showcase. 210 teams and over 350 games from 10:00 am on Friday to 5:00 pm Sunday. I was back in the gym for a jam packed day at Carmel High School on Sunday. Here is Logan's Under the Radar Prospects from Sunday at the Charlie Hughes Showcase:    Have gotten to see [player_tooltip player_id='2622077' first='Raymond' last='Hayes'] on multiple occasions throughout the last couple years and the steady progress he's made in his all around game is impressive. Always been a confident guard that can score the ball in a variety of different ways, but showed his improved court vision and playmaking abilities setting teammates up for open looks with his penetration.     Stock rising 2027 guard out of Carmel put on an absolute show in the game that I got to see on Sunday. [player_tooltip player_id='2560647' first='Vincent' last='Nover'] is a skilled 6'4” Guard/Wing that can do a little bit of everything on the floor. Really good scorer that got going from the three-point line. Really good catch and shoot guy that continues to improve as a movement shooter. Has a smooth release and elevates well into his shot. Really nice middle game where he can use his size to rise up over defenders. Excellent cutter off the ball that can finish plays around the rim. Also showed some playmaking skills when initiating the offense. Just a steady all around player that will have a big senior season for the Greyhounds.     My first time seeing the physical 6'6” Forward out of Frankton on Sunday in his team's win over Boonville. Not the quickest or most athletic player, but really skilled on the offensive end. Inside-out threat that you can use as an offensive hub. Really talented passer for his size. Sees the floor really well and is someone that is difficult to double team because he's such a willing passer. Pick and roll threat with good hands and is able to finish through contact. High energy forward that rebounds well on both ends of the floor and showed his skill as a rim protector being able to stay vertical and contest without fouling. He's apart of a nice forward duo at Frankton that will be able to give teams fits this upcoming season.     The soon to be four year varsity contributor is a steady force for the Boonville Pioneers. Hard nosed guard that doesn't get sped up. He's a crafty guard that thrives on getting two feet in the paint. He absorbs contact well when finishing with either hand while always playing with his eyes up finding open teammates. Solid three-point shooter that can be inconsistent at time. Nothing structurally wrong with his form. Able to make shots both off the catch and off the dribble. Really good in the midrange. Does a good job snaking ball screens and rising up over defenders. Defensively he's an aggressive defender looking to turn defense into offense in a hurry. Only about 6'1” but has the ability to guard multiple positions and is a good rebounder at the guard spot.     An intriguing prospect that first caught my eye last fall at an elite camp that is finally mixing potential and production. At 6'6”, [player_tooltip player_id='2560370' first='Griffin' last='Quesenberry'] continues to hone his outside skills while becoming a big time paint presence. He's a high motor forward that rebounds extremely well on both ends and runs the floor hard. Developing into a nice pick and roll and pick and po threat. Good hands that has shown a soft touch around the basket. Capable shot maker from the perimeter, but thrives in the paint getting garbage buckets off the offensive glass. Versatile defender that can contain guards on the perimeter while being a paint presence that uses his length and size to be a formidable rim protector.
