Back to Kennesaw State's team camp I went Monday, and caught 5 more guys who are names to watch this June and into the upcoming winter.

[player_tooltip player_id='2125566' first='Roman' last='Avery'] | Guard | 6-4 | 2027 | Mt. Bethel

Definitely Avery's year to shine even brighter for the Eagles, as they say goodbye to Nate Robinson in the backcourt, and will have more distributor-friendly PGs to find Avery. Few guys I've watched up close have put in more work than Avery, both on the hardwood and in the weight room, and the work is showing in droves. He showed off a much more lethal "to the basket" game last season in East Cobb, while affirming his position as one of the best spot-up shooters in the ATL-Metro. He was essentially unguardable as MBCA took down a good Excel Christian team. Bigger, more mature, with a more diverse game, the D1's are sure to have him on their radar, and will be descending on Post Oak Tritt Rd. more often in the near future.

[player_tooltip player_id='3658976' first='Corey' last='Harris'] | Forward | 6-10 | 2027 | SACA

With Mt. Bethel's 6-foot-10 [player_tooltip player_id='2436950' first='Peter' last='Julius'] sitting out the morning action, Harris was the lone true big man on display, and he made an impression for sure. Arms that go on forever make him an elite swatter, likely one of the best in the ATL-Metro for '26-27. Good timing and a flair for eating shots, he clearly enjoys the defensive aspect. Offensively, the lefty has some range from 15 feet and in, not afraid to pull from the elbow when left unattended. Some time at the buffet and in the weight room at the next level could be massive, because he's got the guts around the hole to mix it up, but needs the beef to make himself an elite finisher with more than just the dunk shot. Love the upside.

[player_tooltip player_id='3535751' first='Liam' last='McTeer'] | Guard | 6-1 | 2029 | Mt Bethel

Has made a notable impression around town this Spring playing with newly minted Atlanta Standard, and it isn't a surprise. Got a close look at his play this past season under Coach Cal Boyd, and as his minutes increased, he was able to show off his exceptional court vision and savvy. Add to that an ability to knock down the deep J with good consistency, and he checks a lot of boxes for a young PG. He'll see much more time this year for the Eagles, running their transition and finding cracks in the defense to feed guys like [player_tooltip player_id='2436950' first='Peter' last='Julius'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2125566' first='Roman' last='Avery'] for high-percentage finishes.

Ibn Atkins | Guard | 6-0 | 2029 | Chapel Hill

I like Chapel Hill guys, always have, few writers have ventured to Douglas County as much as I have, and I've taken heat for backing them in years past on potential title runs. Douglas County schools are tough, edgy, and there are a lot of really good coaches out that way. Alexander has brought home the titles and is the County's marquee name, but CHHS has churned out some really good players, and Atkins looks to be the next guard in line. A pure point, his head is up and scanning, and with speed to burn with the ball, he combines a clear understanding of the floor with elite movement, and the package shows pretty quickly. Very unselfish, you immediately love that classic quality in him, and while I didn't see a ton of shooting from him at KSU, he was a scourge breaking down the defense. Will begin gaining attention soon.

[player_tooltip player_id='2125525' first='Da'Mir' last='McBride'] | Guard | 5-11 | 2027 | Excel Christian

The returning GAPPS 1-A champs bring back enough talent to make another run, led by the uber-confident McBride. Were he a little taller, there'd be a lot more talk about this player, and his phone would likely be busy entertaining transfer possibilities. He could easily be a starting point man at a 7A school nonetheless, with scouts and writers gushing about him regularly over Twitter. But that aside, he has all the skill to dominate possessions, an array of offensive creativity that ranges from deep 3's to acrobatic finishes around the cup. Doesn't have as much help offensively as last year's team, guys like [player_tooltip player_id='2125567' first='TJ' last='Hubert'], [player_tooltip player_id='2523814' first='Aston' last='Chappell'], and [player_tooltip player_id='2525649' first='Jayden' last='Jinks'] will need to take steps. With superb Coach Evan Black still in charge in Cartersville, McBride will get both the right tutoring and gain the right attention that small schools can often miss out on.
