The championship game of the Hoops and Beyond Summer Showcase came down to two outstanding teams in Principia and host Webster Groves. The result may not actually count, but it will go down as an early summer instant classic.

After trailing early by double digits, Webster Groves battled back and took an 87-85 victory to win the championship for the first time.

Here is a look at the top players from each team.

WEBSTER GROVES

[player_tooltip player_id='2334870' first='Scottie' last='Adkinson']: The 6'3 2027 Mizzou recruit was sensational with a game high 40 points. He scored 21 points in the first half while making four 3-pointers. In the second half, he went into attack mode and drove the ball into the teeth of Principia's defense and its tall defenders. He was drawing contact and scoring on twisting drives.

[player_tooltip player_id='2339267' first='Jayden' last='Woods']: The 6'2" 2027 guard scored 14 points. He's an explosive athlete who was scoring on slashing drives in the lane. He also threw down a pair of slam dunks in transition. He also opened the game with a 3-pointer from the wing.

[player_tooltip player_id='2569194' first='Bryce' last='Millien']: The 6'2" 2028 guard scored 14 points with most of them coming in the same fashion. He was consistently getting downhill and scoring on straight line drives. He attacked with authority and had some strong finishes at the rim. He had one impressive reverse layup late in the game. He has a physically strong body and he plays a fearless style.

[player_tooltip player_id='2509009' first='Jackson' last='Tabash']: The 6'2" shooting guard scored nine points with all of them coming on his three 3-pointers. He was one of the most impressive perimeter shooters in the event. He spaces the court as he can shoot it from deep range. He moves without the ball well to find the open spots.

Peter Oliver: The 6'3" 2027 small forward scored eight points. He is a solid player who does a lot of the little things to help his team succeed, like boxing out for rebounds and diving on the floor for loose balls. He also shot it well from 3-point range. He scored all eight of his points in the second half in the championship game.

PRINCIPIA

[player_tooltip player_id='3622875' first='Colton' last='Waters']: It was a coming out party for the 6'2 2027 guard as he scored a team high 23 points. He was on fire from long distance as he made seven 3-pointers. He made the defense pay for double teaming his bigger teammates inside with his perimeter shooting.

Majok Ater: The 6'9" 2028 forward scored 19 points as he spent much of the game playing above the rim. Not only is he an explosive athlete, he has a quick jump as well. The most impressive of his numerous dunk was a spectacular one-handed put-back slam in the final minute of the game, which got everyone in the building on their feet. He also has a feathery touch from 3-point range. He looked every bit like one of the top sophomore prospects in the country.

[player_tooltip player_id='2334910' first='Sekou' last='Cisse']: The 6'9" 2027 power forward scored 12 points as he was a force in the paint as a scorer and a rebounder. The Statesmen defenders did their best to box him out and hang on him, but he was just to strong to keep off the offensive boards. He had a strong weekend as he played with strength and activity.

[player_tooltip player_id='2377735' first='Kingston' last='Money']: The 6'3" 2027 guard scored 16 points in the championship game. He is a tough cover with his size and physical strength on the perimeter. He has an old school feel to his game as he plays at his own pace and he can shoot mid-range jumpers and take smaller guards into the low post. He can also shoot it from 3-point range.

[player_tooltip player_id='3584219' first='Gassim' last='Toure']: The 6'3" 2027 point guard scored eight points in the championship game. He is a tough cover for opposing guards because of his physical strength and explosive leaping ability. He had one impressive play in transition when he executed a Euro-stop and threw down a slam dunk.

The championship game of the Hoops and Beyond Summer Showcase came down to two outstanding teams in Principia and host Webster Groves. The result may not actually count, but it will go down as an early summer instant classic.
