Great Lakes Closer 17u All-Star Team

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Prep Hoops Great Lakes Closer was a great introduction to the switch back from high school summer ball to grassroots hoops. Gay was the primary ball handler and playmaker. On Saturday, he found and delivered the ball to hot shooters. Sunday, he took the lead over a team playing short-handed that had mostly 28's and 29's on the floor. Gay's leadership and ball skills were essential in the Jayhawks championship weekend. I really like his game. Johnson is strong and physical, and he uses his frame to body his opponents. He's a downhill scorer that was at his best when attacking the rim and playing off contact. Johnson was a true 2 way player at the event as well. He's a STRONG player who put his shoulder into defenders and moved them where he wanted them. Just good old fashioned power buckets! But that wasn't all of his game. Cook could step out on the perimeter and take and make triples. Perhaps the most impressive part of his game was his passing from the perimeter. I watched him bury 9 triples and drop 31 points in a [program_tooltip program_id='2948714' first='Motor' last='City Dragons'] win. He then dropped at least 5 3's in his next game. Absolutely love this young man's skill set. Crawford wasn't just a shooter. One of the first things I saw on Saturday was going up strong and drawing a foul trying to dunk on a head. He was a knock down shooter for the Michigan Jayhawks. He didn't just hit triples; he hit BIG, momentum-changing triples. Losey looked cool, calm, and confident every time he put up a 3. He showed very deep range. We're talking a volleyball line type range, maybe even a step behind it. Losey wasn't in attendance on Sunday, so you know that Saturday's performance had to be special if he's sitting here as a Great Lakes Closer All-Star.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
