Charlie Hughes Showcase | Logan’s Sunday Standouts Pt. 2

The June Scholastic period for Indiana High School Basketball is coming to an end, but not before the biggest live period event in the state in the Charlie Hughes Showcase. 210 teams and over 350 games from 10:00 am on Friday to 5:00 pm Sunday. I was back in the gym for a jam packed day at Carmel High School on Sunday. Here is Part Two of Logan's Sunday Standouts from the Charlie Hughes Showcase:    One of the more intriguing prospects I had the chance to see on Sunday, and it was in the first game of the day. [player_tooltip player_id='2879841' first='Billo' last='Diallo'], a 6'5” Wing from Brownsburg made his impact early and often for the Bulldogs. Long and athletic Wing that really prides himself on being the best defender on the floor. Played with so much energy and love the switchability in his game. With his length and size, he is able to guard any position on the floor and find an advantage. Offensively he's a smooth catch and shoot guy from the perimeter, but showed flashes of playmaking for others and a middle game off the dribble.     Got my second viewing of Franklin Central and [player_tooltip player_id='2622079' first='Jacob' last='Parham'] on Sunday and love the progression he has taken in his game. Physical Guard/Wing that got going early from three against Carmel and then started getting to his spot off the bounce. He welcomes contact on drives. He does a good job of playing on balance and not rushing anything offensively. Only 6'3” but plays bigger on the defensive end. Guards multiple positions and is a really good rebounder.     Not sure there is a better player in Southwest Indiana at getting to the basket on straight line drives than 6'4” 2027 W [player_tooltip player_id='2140389' first='Jaxon' last='McKain'] of Boonville. Physical wing that isn't a great athlete, but has an explosive first step to get around his defender. Does a good job absorbing contact and still being able to make plays for himself as well as others. Good court vision with the ability to initiate offense. Versatile defender that plays with a high motor.     This was the first time getting to see [player_tooltip player_id='2140390' first='Jeremiah' last='Bellamy'] live since the fall of his freshman year. The versatile 6'5” Wing/Forward started a bit slow in the game I saw, but he made big plays down the stretch in Lawrence Central's win against Brownsburg in the first game of the day on Sunday. Bellamy is a matchup problem essentially every time he steps on to the floor. Perimeter skills where he can exploit mismatches against bigger players while being a physical post presence in post to take advantage against smaller players. Nice midrange jumper with range that stretches out to the three-point line.     The big time point guard out of Carmel was huge in the second half of the Greyhounds win over Franklin Central on Sunday. [player_tooltip player_id='2140341' first='Cash' last='Daniels'] showed off his full offensive arsenal. Excellent getting downhill with elite speed and quickness. Explosive getting to the rim where he finishes well over length. Operates the pick and roll well with the ability to create for his teammates as well as rise up in the midrange and knock shots down. Perimeter jumper is improving, but is best when penetrating and distributing.
