We’ve Got Next: Saturday Standouts

Out of all the players I watched that day, he may have had the highest ceiling. Braxton is an ultra-athletic rim protector with legitimate guard skills. He combines the size and defensive presence of a forward with the speed, quickness, and ball-handling ability of a guard. Against BYS Basketball, he showcased his full arsenal — controlling the glass, pushing the ball in transition, and creating easy looks for teammates with impressive passing vision. Against Rock Summit Basketball, he showcased that versatility in multiple ways. He consistently created second-chance opportunities with his work on the offensive glass and beat the defense down the floor for several transition finishes. Gabe has the ability to guard positions 1-5 and already looks polished for his age. He was the fastest player on the floor, constantly turning defense into transition layups. In the half court, he displayed excellent craftiness finishing through traffic around defenders. Bostic also proved to be a willing playmaker, doing a great job finding his bigs inside. Defensively, he was a disruptive perimeter defender who generated steals both on-ball and in the passing lanes. He is an aggressive downhill player who embraces contact and finishes through it. His athleticism popped throughout the game, especially on the defensive end where he was one of the best on-ball defenders I watched on Saturday. Opposing guards struggled to get around him, and he also made an impact jumping passing lanes. Dallen made his presence felt on the offensive glass as well. He consistently found himself in the right spots offensively, and his teammates rewarded him for it. He runs the floor extremely well and combines that with soft touch around the basket. Kamran controlled the glass throughout the game and overpowered the opposing frontcourt.
