ANAHEIM, Calif. — With the major shoe circuits back east last weekend we stayed in SoCal to check out more regionalized talent on the adidas 3Stripes Gold Circuit and came away impressed with the depth of talent. We spent all day Saturday at OGP Anaheim for the 17u action and saw a good mix of teams and players from out west. Below we take a look at the best wings, forwards and centers we watched.

Beckham Welling | [program_tooltip program_id='2272999' first='Salt' last='Lake Rebels'] (UT)

Welling is a skilled and mobile four man who showed the ability to stretch the floor off the catch to the three-point line and operate as a screener, roller and finisher in ball-screen action. The long, wiry 6-foot-8 forward has strong basketball bloodlines - both older brothers are Division 1 players - and he's trending in that direction as well as a late bloomer.

[player_tooltip player_id='2352702' first='Bentley' last='Morrow'] | Bay City Warriors

Morrow is an intriguing combination of size and playmaking which lends to his point-forward abilities. The 6-foot-5 wing can initiate offense as a primary ball handler or in reversal situations where he can use ball screens to get into the lane and score or go into a dribble hand-off action to put pressure on the defense. Morrow was a crafty finisher around the basket who can score with either hand inside.

Bridjer Howard | [program_tooltip program_id='2214029' first='Utah' last='Valley Prime'] (UT)

Howard brought a modern, inside-out style of play to the center position which made [program_tooltip program_id='2214029' first='Utah' last='Valley Prime'] a tough team to cover during this event. The 6-foot-10, class of 2027 prospect out of Idaho made his presence felt inside with fundamental drop-step and finish footwork and the ability to seal and score in high-low situations. Howard also stepped out on the perimeter and hit a few catch-and-shoot threes.

[player_tooltip player_id='2084384' first='Camden' last='Broadhead'] | [program_tooltip program_id='2272999' first='Salt' last='Lake Rebels'] (UT)

Broadhead is a long, mobile and skilled four/five man whose energy, effort and activity around the basket resulted in him being a near double-double threat on the weekend. The 6-foot-9 2027 prospect is an efficient at-rim finisher with his quick first jump and ability to keep the ball high and flow into layups or dunks on screen/roll or rim-running opportunities.

[player_tooltip player_id='2131819' first='Evan' last='Colarusso'] | [program_tooltip program_id='2272999' first='Salt' last='Lake Rebels'] (UT)

Colarusso was a high motor presence on the wing who did a little bit of everything for his team. The 6-foot-6 wing/forward was best as a slasher and finisher in transition and made timely cuts and grabbed offensive rebounds in the half-court setting. Colarusso also showed the ability to stretch the floor to three off the catch.

Jerry Moody | TruNM (NM)

Moody is a throwback style big man with a defense and rebounding approach that could see him garner some Low Major Division 1 interest. The 6-foot-9 center is broad-shouldered, long and mobile and used those traits to protect the rim with shot blocks and contests and rebound at a high rate. Moody has physical and athletic tools to be molded into a productive player.

[player_tooltip player_id='2899860' first='Oliver' last='Mosman'] | [program_tooltip program_id='2214029' first='Utah' last='Valley Prime'] (UT)

Mosman used his combination of size, physicality and touch around the basket to be a dominant force in the paint over the weekend. The 6-foot-8 center set a bruising ball-screen and rolled his defender into the lane where he sealed deep post position, was patient on his post touches and scored over either shoulder.

[player_tooltip player_id='2874136' first='Royce' last='Pennington'] | 707 Premier

Pennington impressed with his offensive versatility where his mid-range shot-making and ability to create for others off the bounce stood out. The Northern California-based prospect has a long, wiry frame at 6-feet-6, is a fluid athlete with the ball skills to get into the lane and can knock down deep three-point shots off the catch. He averaged 13.6 points and 6.3 rebounds per game.
