The best of the best on a weekend that was all about Battle at the Lakes!

Undefeated

[program_tooltip program_id='2075485' first='Gain' last='Elite'] made a statement once again this weekend. They had their way with Select and Sanford Sports Academy UA Rise, and then won close games with the Comets and Team 1848. If Select was the team of April, [program_tooltip program_id='2075485' first='Gain' last='Elite'] is off to a great start in being the team of May (with some end of April mixed in).

[program_tooltip program_id='2075431' first='D1' last='Minnesota'] played their three games allowing just 117 points in those three games and went home. It was a period of establishing dominance and they did it was [player_tooltip player_id='2126108' first='Jack' last='Thelen'] out and [player_tooltip player_id='2436914' first='Kellen' last='Troup'] playing at about 50 percent. A very impressive showing beating 1848, KC Spurs and Select.

Hoop Habits was 4-0 this weekend and they did it with double figure wins against a lot of good teams. This wins included Martin Brothers UAA meaning a Rise team (second league) beat a top league UAA team. They beat a 24 UP team that beat [program_tooltip program_id='2075431' first='D1' last='Minnesota'] and [program_tooltip program_id='2075485' first='Gain' last='Elite'], and they beat SSA ND (ECI) by 15.

If high school coaches wanted their players in close games this spring/summer, they were likely happy with the [program_tooltip program_id='2075310' first='Northstar' last='Titans']. They won games by five, four, and six points and then crushed Team Chattanooga Adidas Gold by 30.

[program_tooltip program_id='2075674' first='Minnesota' last='Heat'] GVR is also ascending right now. They won close games with local teams ([program_tooltip program_id='2821775' first='Buffalo' last='Legacy'] and SW MN Stars) and they beat up the out of state teams from Montana and Michigan. This team plays good basketball together and they have four weapons now you have to find a way to defend.

Minnesota Gold made a statement this weekend. This was pretty much their first local fight and they won that four game fight by an average of 24 points a game. They won the battle of the Adidas seconds teams (vs Murray Elite) plus blew out a couple locals.

[program_tooltip program_id='2075672' first='Minnesota' last='Fury'] Sabin was in Pool G looking for a good rebound weekend and they got it beating Powerhouse as well as teams from Nebraska, South Dakota and Colorado. A team that make good progress this weekend.

Minneapolis Central won their four games by an average of a high teen point differential. [program_tooltip program_id='2412152' first='East' last='Metro Wave'] and Minnesota Crossfire were the other teams that went undefeated.

A Strong 3-1/4-1 Showing

[program_tooltip program_id='2075672' first='Minnesota' last='Fury'] Zurn. Fury was one of a few teams that stepped up and played five games and they had a tough five games winning four of them! They started the weekend with a quality win over UAA team Martin Brothers followed by a 12 point win over a good Team Warwick squad from South Dakota. They also beat the 24:Up team that other locals have struggled with as well as the Wisconsin Playmakers. The legs ran out in game five falling to SSA South Dakota UA Rise but it was a strong weekend.

[program_tooltip program_id='2888391' first='Minnesota' last='Comets'] Hondl is another second team for a program that is really starting to play at a high level (We just talked about MN Gold and Fury Goring). It was a nice win over the second Select team, they beat up an Iowa team, and defeated Elevate Skills before losing to the second SSA SD team by a point.

Minnesota Rise made a nice impression at Battle. They were able to beat the Magic, the second Murray Elite team, and a team from Texas all by double figures. The Rise have some emerging young talents that make them a team to watch in May.

Next Weekend!

It's the live period!

The spots that will have the most Minnesota teams will be Sioux Falls at the Pentagon (Heat, WCU, Wildcats, Starks, etc and Kansas City (Fury, Select, Comets, Stars, Rise, more). The KC event has some interesting pool placement that includes Minnesota's third ranked team [program_tooltip program_id='2075672' first='Minnesota' last='Fury'] Goring in Pool ZZZ with their 19-3 record and scholarship frontcourt kids.

[program_tooltip program_id='2075431' first='D1' last='Minnesota'] will be in their Adidas 3SBB competition, Hoop Habits in UA Rise, Sizzle in Made Hoops, [program_tooltip program_id='2075485' first='Gain' last='Elite'] in P32, Elevate in E32, Real Phenom in Nxt Pro and I am sure there are a few others.
