The Weekly Top Five!

(1A) [program_tooltip program_id='2075431' first='D1' last='Minnesota']

(1AA) Hoop Habits

(1AAA) [program_tooltip program_id='2075672' first='Minnesota' last='Fury'] Wilde

(4) Select Krona

(5) Minnesota Gold

Undefeated

[program_tooltip program_id='2075431' first='D1' last='Minnesota'] took on challenges from two UA Rise teams (one from Wisconsin, one from Michigan), they faced the Comets, and they battled UAA team Martin Brothers. The final results was a two score win over Martin Bros and controlling 20 point area differentials against the others. A statement weekend from [player_tooltip player_id='2560499' first='Kevin' last='Wilson Jr.'] and company.

Hoop Habits was equally as dominant going undefeated in the other top pool of the event (A and B were evenly split). The UA Rise team improved to 18-0 on the year beating SSA ND (ECI), two P32 Wisconsin teams, and an Adidas Gold squad from Iowa by a combined 67 points.

Not to be outdone at the top, the other undefeated team in the top pool groups? [program_tooltip program_id='2075672' first='Minnesota' last='Fury'] Wilde. The Fury had blowout team wins over good programs from Wisconsin, Iowa, and South Dakota, and then won a close game with the Wisconsin Playmakers (who of course have a Minnesota point guard in [player_tooltip player_id='2387331' first='Grant' last='King']).

Staying with the Minnesota dominates the neighboring states theme, [program_tooltip program_id='2075485' first='Gain' last='Elite'] was the undefeated team in a very good Pool C. [program_tooltip program_id='2075485' first='Gain' last='Elite'] had blowout wins over teams from Michigan and Wisconsin including a 59-34 win over the top Wisconsin Swing team. [program_tooltip program_id='2075485' first='Gain' last='Elite'] had a three score win over Fury Shepherd in their closest game.

The Pool D winner with a perfect record? Surprise! Surprise! A Minnesota team, [program_tooltip program_id='2075674' first='Minnesota' last='Heat'] Dedina. They had blowout wins over teams from Iowa and Wisconsin, and then battled with locals (close game with WCU and blew out Fury Hibbs) to get wins there as well.

[program_tooltip program_id='2075685' first='Minnesota' last='Select'] Krona has had some bumps in the road early this season but this weekend was just what they needed: 4-0! They beat teams from Omaha and Fargo, and then beat a pair of locals by ten points each (Mpls Central and Hoop Habits White). They take this success into a weekend of hoops in Chicago in a good pool.

Minnesota Gold seemed to make a statement this weekend. They took out a Colorado team by 40 points, beat the Wayzata kids by 25, beat the Playmakers by 15, and won a one score game over the Comets Schumann by a basket.

[program_tooltip program_id='2078859' first='Starks' last='Elite'] knocked out two teams from Wisconsin, they defeated a Colorado team in a two score game, and they beat the Swish by three scores. Heat Gunderman, Forward Thinking, and Swish Angell all won their pools with a perfect record as well.

Next Weekend!

It's the live period and let's be ready, the transfer portal and upcoming 5 for 5 has made 16u the new 14u as far as D1 coaches are concerned. But..... maybe a school wanders by a game? And where will people be?

If you are playing Nike, UA Rise, or Adidas you are in that Memphis-Ohio-Indy triangle where D1 coaches are going to be cruising all over the place.

Closer to home, a big group of teams will be headed to Sioux Falls and Kansas City, with some others playing in the Omaha area, Chicago area, and Milwaukee area.
