Standout 17u PG’s At Rumble In The Rapids

He didn't disappoint at Rumble In The Rapids. Canfield once again showed that he's a tremendous shooting lead guard. If the defense stepped back, he showed that he can and will make them pay. While his shooting stole the show, if you look deeper, you will have also seen an efficient lead guard that advanced the ball with minimal turnovers. First of all, his frame says upperclassman. Second of all, his game says next level. This young guard is extraordinarily talented. Himes is a playmaker with the ball and can and will find teammates in scoring positions. He had the look of a playmaking guard. Jones attacked the rim and finished with creativity. A couple that stood out to me were a transition reverse layup and a left to right scoop and score. Green caught fire on Sunday. He spun, hit 2 feet, and scored. Then he had a drive across the lane for a score. And let's not forget about the range on his jumper. McCree is much taller than that, has a next level frame. He attends Detroit Catholic Central as well. Putting him with the PG's may raise some eyebrows, but let's look at what he did this weekend. McCree handled the ball without over dribbling and got it to it's spots with handles and passes. He made excellent decisions with the ball and played efficiently, shooting and scoring when he had good looks.
