Prep Hoops Live: Sunday's Stock Rising Prospects

The final day's worth of competition of the Prep Hoops Live event in Batavia took place on Sunday. I got to take in action from teams in the 16U division for most of the contests. In this breakdown we will take a look at a half of dozen players that made statements during the showcase's final day.    Watched Bell in the early morning game Sunday. Builds his base of play off of sound defense and athleticism. Recorded multiple steals in the back court which led to offensive opportunities. Utilizes quick lateral movement and hands to agitate handler. Has bounce from the guard spot. Tallied him for 3 clean blocks at the rim with one being after a fast chase down from beyond out of pure will and hustle. Offensively finished efficiency at the cup with a runner in the lane through traffic and then a cool turnaround jumper from 8 feet. Brings plus energy to the table rotating in the 1 or 2 spots.     Impressive combo guard that saw I saw compete in first game of the day on Sunday. Crafty handler that gets down hill with speed and burst. Can slice and dice through traffic on a solid dribble and continue to put pressure on defense off the bounce. Scored it on a smooth spin move into a 15 foot jumper and also had multiple takes to initiate contact and get to the stripe. Works well in the primary break phase while applying quickness and agility to the game. Dynamic guard with continued upside.     Caught the young guard from Colin [player_tooltip player_id='2873209' first='Powell' last=''] M.S in early morning game. Was playing up 2 age levels through the weekend. Has some height to grow still but just came off an IESA State Championship and it showed. Dynamic scorer that outworks opponent. Filled up the stat sheet from 3 levels in route for a 30 point performance. Can play off 2 feet in the lane and is poised changing speeds while handling. Applied tough defense throughout while finishing at the cup in a variety of ways. Put on a clinic while grinding and outhustling in multiple facets.     Saw Leibovich play last AAU season a couple times and the guard from Highland Park continues to impress. Has a quick and tight handle that allows offense to get into flow vs trapping or press scenarios. Fits into an undersized 2 man with his sharp shooting ability so could fill a combo role at the next level. Took in a full game and another half game of his on Sunday and he continued to capitalize from beyond the arc consistently through both. Defensively will pressure on the ball hard with quick lateral movement. A gamer that's poised and collective for the moment on both ends.     One of the more intriguing bigs I saw during today's matchups. A high motor post that brings toughness all around. Volume screener on and off the ball with continued energy. Consistently rim ran throughout. Selfless on both sides while creating space for teammates. Battles for positioning on the inside while presenting solid verticality to contest shots inside and out. Gets on the floor for loose balls and has a strong physical presence. Brings smart movement to help team make winning plays.     An athletic 6'3 combo guard that brings tenacity and good pace to the game. Was effective in transition off outlets or securing d boards himself then flowing into efficient O. Pushes pace consistently with speed. Offensively can jab step or hesitate to create space then make his move. Defensively sticks on the ball and crashes on the glass. Finished at the cup a couple times off the bounce and knocked down a smooth 17 foot jumper under zero gap pressure. An under the radar OPRF prospect to keep tabs on and should turn some heads as summer progresses.
