PH Midwest Melee: (13U) Floor Leaders

At every level of grassroots basketball, great guard play sets the tone. This group of floor leaders did exactly that throughout the weekend. Whether orchestrating the offense, handling pressure, or stepping up in clutch moments, these guards consistently kept their teams composed and competitive. Their combination of poise, playmaking, and decision-making proved to be a major factor in winning basketball.    PJ Rose showcased strong command of the game at the lead guard position, using his size and composure to thrive against older competition. His ability to protect the ball and navigate pressure allowed [program_tooltip program_id='2078449' first='Meanstreets' last=''] to stay organized offensively throughout the weekend. Rose consistently created opportunities for teammates by getting downhill with long, controlled strides and keeping defenders on his hip to open passing windows. Beyond the scoring and playmaking, he impacted every aspect of the game during [program_tooltip program_id='2078449' first='Meanstreets' last='']' run to the Gold Bracket Championship.     Landon Ewen proved to be one of the toughest covers in his division thanks to his blend of size, skill, and offensive IQ. Whether in transition or operating in the half court, he handled the ball confidently and played under control. Ewen demonstrated the ability to score at all three levels, but what stood out most was how efficiently he got to his spots. He wasted little movement, making quick decisions and using minimal dribbles to create high-quality looks against defenders. His offensive magnetism allowed teammates to drive the ball to an unattended paint.     [player_tooltip player_id='3069090' first='Deontae' last='Gordon'] embraced a major playmaking role for Chicago Extreme and delivered throughout the weekend. He handled full-court pressure with poise and operated as an extension of the coaching staff while on the floor. Gordon's crafty handle and ability to break defenders down injected life into the offense and kept teammates involved. His leadership and creativity as a primary ball handler helped Chicago Extreme maintain control and rhythm in key stretches.     Canon Domercant stepped up in a major way during the Gold Bracket Championship, bringing energy and composure when his team needed it most. Given the opportunity to run the offense, he showed the ability to organize his team and create quality possessions. Domercant also displayed a strong understanding of how to draw contact and get to the free-throw line. His clutch three-point shooting shifted momentum at critical moments, and his consistent effort never wavered despite the highs and lows of the game.     SJ Richardson brought versatility and creativity to the floor for All In. The big guard used his size and skill set to break down defenders on the perimeter, including opposing big men forced to switch onto him. Richardson also excelled in transition, pushing the pace after crashing the glass or filling lanes effectively on the break. His ability to create offense off the dribble and generate paint touches played a major role in All In's win over Hang Time Elite.
