DMV Live: MD/VA Standouts

Division I college coaches were on the road throughout the country this weekend for the May evaluation period, and many made their way to Baltimore for DMV Live. Several of the area's top travel programs were in attendance as well, giving prospects another opportunity to perform in front of college staffs from every level. Here are five players who proved this weekend that they deserve increased attention from college coaches.    Polk is a quick, scoring lead guard who finished with 15 points against NOVA 94 Feet in Baltimore while continuing to show his ability to create offense with the basketball in his hands. Very good off the dribble, he is difficult for defenders to keep out of the paint and consistently puts pressure on defenses attacking downhill. Polk was especially effective with his midrange pull up jumper off the bounce, showing touch and confidence scoring in space. He also brought energy and activity at the defensive end, competing consistently on that side of the floor throughout the game.     Polk's teammate, Isaac Mamadou, was a new name for us in Baltimore but quickly emerged as one of the more impressive frontcourt prospects in the 2028 class. A long, active forward with intriguing upside, Mamadou moves very well for his size and consistently impacted the game with his athleticism and motor. He is an above the rim finisher who rebounds outside of his area and does a very good job keeping possessions alive with his length, activity, and effort on the glass. With his physical tools, mobility, and developing skill set, there is plenty of long term potential here as he continues to get stronger and gain experience.     Herring is a scoring guard who continued to showcase his offensive ability with a 14 point performance in Saturday's overtime loss to VA Havoc. A strong downhill driver, he consistently creates his own offense and is difficult to contain once he gets attacking the paint. Herring also showed the ability to knock down contested midrange pull-up jumpers off the dribble, giving him another weapon as a scorer. The Second Team All-District selection for the Panthers this season plays with confidence and toughness, and continues to emerge as an intriguing backcourt prospect in the 2027 class.     Lee was one of the most impressive perimeter prospects we evaluated this weekend. The combo guard, who earned First Team All-County honors for the Admirals after averaging more than 17 points per game this season, continued his strong scoring play with [program_tooltip program_id='2076989' first='Mid' last='Atlantic Select']. A skilled offensive guard, Lee can score at all three levels and consistently uses ball screens effectively to create advantages. He displayed multiple tough drives and finishes in the lane, showing his ability to navigate traffic and score through contact. Extremely shifty with the basketball, Lee is difficult for defenders to keep out of the paint and finished with 13 points in a win over Team White Mamba.     Lee's teammate with [program_tooltip program_id='2076989' first='Mid' last='Atlantic Select'], Nix is a versatile wing prospect with good positional size, length, and above average athleticism. He is at his best offensively attacking the paint off the dribble and scoring in the midrange, where he consistently shows body control and the ability to create space. Nix impacts the game with his activity level and toughness, while his combination of size, length, and athleticism allows him to guard multiple positions effectively at the defensive end. He plays with a high motor and consistently brings energy on both sides of the floor.
