GASO Duncanville: Early Contributors Making a Difference

GASO in Duncanville provided an opportunity for me to witness players from various regions of Texas competing in a pool brimming with talent. Among these standout players, five individuals played a pivotal role in their team's early success during the weekend. Let's look into the identities of these players!    [player_tooltip player_id='2252471' first='Kameron' last='Price'] is a guard out of [program_tooltip program_id='2076309' first='Southern' last='Assault'] 17U that is very effective when he is going downhill. Throughout my evaluation of his game, he made key drives in the first half to push his team's lead up in double figures before the end of the half. With the ball in his hands, he pushes the tempo up the floor off defensive stops, which generates plenty of points for [program_tooltip program_id='2076309' first='Southern' last='Assault'] 17U. When he draws contact and gets to the free throw line, he shot pretty accurately, having an impressive percentage throughout the game against Team Allegiance 17U Harding.     Landon Barnes was the big man in the middle for [program_tooltip program_id='2076309' first='Southern' last='Assault'] 17U. Offensively, he provided a soft touch around the rim using his size to gain clear opportunities. He was a good rebounder throughout my evaluation of his game against Team Allegiance 17U, coming up with rebounds on both ends of the floor. Defensively, he did a good job of protecting the rim at times against opposing players. The 2026 prospect is still available to play on the next level!     Wyatt Miller was one of my top standout players for Mamba Mentality 17U that made a significant impact at the GASO tournament this weekend. His athleticism is evident on the court, allowing him to contribute effectively on both ends. During the game against the [player_tooltip player_id='2854586' first='Austin' last=''] Aces, Wyatt showcased his defensive skillset by chasing down shots in transition situations multiple times. Offensively, he remained in attack mode throughout the game, consistently playing above the rim and securing numerous dunks. Moreover, Wyatt demonstrated his versatility by playing in the center position, providing defense in the interior and perimeter.     Timothy White was the anchor in the paint for the [program_tooltip program_id='2075962' first='Top' last='Achievers Elite'] that showcased his rebounding skillset against We Believe Basketball. His skillset not only provided his team with multiple offensive opportunities but also demonstrated his disciplined defensive play in the interior. Timothy kept his hands up during contests, effectively guarding the paint. Offensively, he play-finished inside the paint with powerful dunks and layups. In this game Timothy finished with 16 points and over 10 rebounds.     Luke Chancellor out of the HD Toros Elite 2028, was a topic of discussion throughout the weekend at GASO. I was particularly impressed by his relentless energy and effort during the game against TWE Elite. Defensively, he was aggressive as he applied pressure on opposing guards and disrupting their offensive flow at times. When transitioning from defense to offense, he preferred to push the pace, both with and without the ball. Offensively, he created numerous layup opportunities and consistently demonstrated his awareness of his teammates positions through his passing, resulting in multiple open looks.
