A guard who sees the court well and felt like he was simply in control for the majority of the games he played, [player_tooltip player_id='2828831' first='Beckett' last='Misener'] took charge for Splash Bros on Saturday. Playing at his own pace with a solid handle and the ability to attack off-the-dribble and finish with a floater for two, Misener forced opponents to sag off of him defensively for fear of getting beat to the rim.

One of the more athletic guards in the gym, Misener used a mixture of his handles, bounce and balance to get to the cup and score. He also effectively used the pick-and-roll with his bigger teammates.

A secondary guard for the NE Iowa Hustlers, [player_tooltip player_id='3344412' first='Issiah' last='Moudy'] did a lot of different things from the guard position for his squad in Hiawatha. Though he struggled to shoot it consistently from the outside, Moudy didn't continue to settle for three-pointers, putting the ball on the floor and going to the basket and drawing fouls to get to the free throw line when his shot wasn't falling.

Blocking a shot on defense and then taking the rock the full length of the court, dribbling behind-the-back and weaving through traffic, Moudy whipped a pass to a teammate in the corner for an open three, rather than forcing a contested layup.

A high IQ player with a smooth jump shot, Hudson Humphrey of Davis County and Advanced was a polished prospect that didn't turn the ball over and got clean looks from the outside.

One of the better displays of his basketball intelligence came from a fake backdoor cut that his defender completely bit on, before Humphrey stepped back out, caught a pass in his shooting pocket and drilled a three. Not a bad athlete, either, Humphrey was a solid defender, providing a three-and-D presence for Advanced.

A big, long, explosive athlete, Ajay Ziaty played above the rim with some serious bounce. One of the better athletes in the gym, Ziaty could dunk with ease, and that reared its ugly head against an opponent in Omega's first game of the day.

Catching an outlet pass with just one defender ahead of him, Ziaty took a couple dribbles and through it down on the defenders head for an and-one before making the free throw.

One of several primary ball-handlers for his team, Trashawn Briggs filled the mold that Omega clearly looks for when creating a team that's a mixture of Des Moines East and North players. Briggs, like his backcourt teammates, was a quick guard that was always looking to get down hill. Looking primarily to score at the rim or draw a foul if the lane is there for him to take advantage, Briggs' main goal was to get on the board for his team.

Otherwise, if the defense collapsed, Briggs was happy to dish it out to a teammate on the perimeter for three.
