One of my favorite newly-discovered players from the weekend, [player_tooltip player_id='3632844' first='Mason' last='Curley'] looked supremely confident in every facet of his game on Saturday. Attacking the full-court pressure with the ball in his hands, stepping into and knocking down open triples, finishing with either hand at the rim, playing unselfishly and serving as the catalyst of the offense for the Hustlers, Curley did it all.

A guard who can do a little bit of everything on the offensive end, but that also possesses the length and athleticism to defend on the other side of the ball, Curley should be expected to be a bigger part of one of the more consistent small-school programs, Wapsie Valley next winter.

The lead guard for Advanced, Christian Tripses did all the things a point guard should do for his squad. Effectively using screens to get shots off himself, finding the roll man for layups, and making intelligent decisions that kept the ball in possession of Advanced, Tripses elevated the play of his teammates.

Looking to get to the bucket with the help of screens, but also effectively using a jab step to create space for himself to put the ball on the floor or shoot it, Tripses also directed traffic offensively.

Playing in the backcourt and front court for the Splash Bros, [player_tooltip player_id='2396193' first='George' last='Trovas'] helped out in a variety of ways over the weekend. A long, quick wing that played a multitude of posititions, handling the rock, fighting for rebounds and defending bigs and guards.

At his best when he was getting downhill, Trovas used a mixture of a floater and a scoop layup to score around the bucket. Defensively, his length and quickness allowed him to defend multiple positions, too.

A sharp-shooter out of West Liberty after shooting just under 40% from three this year, it makes sense why Advanced wanted Bell on their roster for the spring and summer.

Over the weekend, he utilized that same strength, showing off a quick release, reliable three-point shot. In what I was able to see of advanced, Bell launched it with lightning-quick speed, and though the ball rimmed in and out almost as quickly as he got it off, Bell's shot speed can come in handy when the shot-clock is ticking down or his team needs to get a three off with time expiring.

Out there to provide complementary shooting and defensive effort alongside Curley, Jonathan Reed's shot didn't fall as consistently as he would have liked, but his defense remained consistent.

An irritant that can defend point guards and shooting guards on the perimeter, Reed provided full-court pressure that would result in turnovers from the opposing team. Either grabbing steals himself or deflections for teammates, Reed helped create easy twos on behalf of the Hustlers.
