This past Sunday, we took a trip to the annual Doug's Dozen classic taking place at CE King HS. Doug Jones is one of the major basketball event contributors and scouts in the city of Houston and not enough can be said about what he does for the high school basketball community. Several top teams in the state come out every year and put on highlight performances at Doug's event, showcasing their talent and dedication to the game. Let's examine the skillset of some of these athletes who caught my eye at Doug's Dozen.

[player_tooltip player_id='2832690' first='Nate' last='Jones'] is a high-flying wing who consistently got to the rim and threw down some thunderous dunks in the victory for YPG NXTPro 17u over Be Someone Elite. Nate showed that he knows when to cut to the basket and be open for clean looks in the paint. Jones has capability to beat defenders when put in isolation situations and he is adept picking apart opposition out of the triple threat. He also had several blocks under the basket and came down with key rebounds to keep his team in the lead the entire contest. Coming out of Millwood High in Oklahoma, Jones has definitely made his way onto my radar for top prospects I have watched this summer.

Ty Cole was a do-it-all player for the H-Town Canes 14u in their clinching of the championship and he made it all happen on both ends. Ty constantly scored from all three levels and made his presence known on the defensive perimeter, playing passing lanes and notching transition opportunities for his team to further the gap throughout the game. Cole shows good speed on fastbreaks, and he also has great court awareness to always know where his teammates are at on offense.

Turner was a huge post presence in the YPG NXTPro 17u win over Be Someone on Sunday afternoon. Tristine used a variety of back to the basket post moves and smooth footwork to get to the foul line and often converted at the charity stripe. Hailing from Midland Legacy, it is not hard to see why Turner commands the post in every game he plays due to his large frame and height. His long wingspan allows him to send away defender's shot attempts in the lane, and he is efficient off the pick and roll.

Jamison is good at creating his own shot off the dribble and showcases three level scoring ability for [program_tooltip program_id='2075483' first='FYN' last='All Stars']. Tristian had constant off ball movement as well, showing ability to find himself open on key plays for good shots at the basket on his jumpers. Jamison makes good decisions with the ball in his hand, and he showcases high IQ at his age for finding teammates and knowing when to pass and when to shoot.
