All Access Team Preview: Atlanta Standard 17U

Atlanta Standard was founded by Coach Les Strech of Lassiter High School and a previous coach with Atlanta Express and Justin McTeer this program is loaded with underrated talent and hidden gems. The roster features several players from smaller GAPPS and GHSA schools who may not receive a ton of statewide attention but absolutely have the talent to compete at a high level. This group is filled with tough, hardworking players who consistently produce and impact winning in a variety of ways. There are multiple prospects on this roster with the ability to play college basketball, and I would not be surprised to see several of them break out at their respective high schools next season. This is a program that college coaches should keep a close eye on moving forward.    Coming off a breakout season at GAPPS program Johnson Ferry Christian Academy, Witte emerged as one of the top shooters in Georgia after knocking down 85 three-pointers, ranking 10th in the state. He's one of my favorite hidden gems in the class of 2027 because he checks every box you look for in a high-level shooter: quick footwork, a rapid release, and elite confidence from deep. What makes him even more intriguing is that he's far more than just a perimeter specialist. Witte also has a solid handle, can create off the bounce, and finishes well around the rim playing off two feet. His ability to score at multiple levels gives him a lot of long-term upside offensively.     Cannon was Witte's partner in crime last season at Johnson Ferry Christian Academy and is just as impressive of a prospect in his own right. He's a versatile guard who can score in a variety of ways and consistently puts pressure on defenses with his offensive skill set. He has a solid handle, great touch around the rim, and a smooth floater game that makes him especially effective in the paint area. In addition to his interior scoring ability, Cannon is also a very capable perimeter shooter who can make defenses pay when left open. His combination of floor spacing, shot-making, and ability to provide instant scoring bursts gives his team a major offensive spark and makes them even more dangerous.     Strech is one of several 2028 prospects playing up at the 17U level on this roster, and he's already proven he belongs against older competition. He's a high-level shooter with a smooth, confident stroke and the ability to consistently knock down shots from deep, especially from the corners where he can really heat up in a hurry. His quick release and shot-ready mindset make him a dangerous floor spacer who keeps defenses honest at all times. Beyond the shooting, he also brings value as a floor general who sees the floor well, pushes tempo, and creates easy opportunities for teammates in transition. He plays with a scrappy, high-motor mentality and competes hard on every possession, bringing energy and toughness to the floor. I got the chance to talk with Strech after the practice I attended, and he came across as a great kid who actively seeks coaching and embraces development. That type of work ethic paired with his shooting ability gives him tremendous long term upside.     Lynch is one of the hardest-playing interior players I've seen all AAU season. He consistently attacks the glass on both ends of the floor, ripping down rebounds that create energy, extra possessions, and early transition opportunities for his team. He plays with tremendous passion and toughness, bringing a nonstop motor every time he steps on the court. Defensively, he's a strong interior presence who alters and rejects shots while making opponents uncomfortable around the rim. Offensively, he also has a polished post game with good touch and the ability to score efficiently inside using physicality and footwork. As he continues to develop his outside jumper, he has the potential to become an extremely valuable prospect and a player Division II and Division III programs will be all over.     King is a guard who consistently pushes the tempo and puts constant pressure on opposing defenses in transition. As a combo guard, he's a high-level scorer around the basket, using a crafty double-clutch finish package that allows him to adjust in the air and score through contact. He plays with great pace and control in the open floor, turning defense into offense in an instant. His speed and aggressiveness make him difficult to contain once he gets downhill, as he's essentially a blur in transition who keeps defenses on their heels. He also has the capability to knock down shots from the outside, adding another layer to his scoring ability and making him even tougher to guard.     A versatile wing who impacts the game at a high level on both ends of the floor. His size and quick footspeed allow him to effectively guard multiple positions, giving his team valuable defensive flexibility. Offensively, he's an athletic threat who can knock down shots from the perimeter while also stretching defenses with his ability to space the floor. Defensively, he takes pride in matching up with and containing the opposing team's best scorer. He understands his role and executes it at a high level, consistently bringing energy, discipline, and effort every time he steps on the court.     Wilkins is a high-level playmaker who operates with a shifty, low-to-the-ground handle that allows him to consistently break pressure and navigate tight defenses. He's a skilled passer who sees the floor well and also poses a strong downhill scoring threat, making him a dynamic offensive weapon with clear upside. Defensively, he brings high intensity at the point of attack, applying constant ball pressure that leads to turnovers and disrupts opposing guards. He competes on both ends of the floor and impacts the game in a variety of ways that don't always show up in the box score. A true point guard, he controls the tempo and plays with toughness, energy, and purpose every possession.     Purifoy is a high motor wing who consistently runs the floor well and creates easy scoring opportunities around the basket. He plays with energy and effort, often getting rewarded with transition finishes and quick hit baskets in the open court. Offensively, he understands how to stay involved within the flow of the game, knowing when to move the ball and when to relocate without it. On the defensive end, he brings strong activity and disrupts opponents with deflections and steals that lead to extra possessions for his team. An athletic and developing prospect with clear upside, he has the tools to grow into a dominant presence over the next few high school seasons as his game continues to mature.
