Mackland didn't get much varsity run as a sophomore for one of the better teams in 2A, but he has gotten off to a great start to his 16U season with Team Factory out of Nebraska, routinely putting up big scoring and assist totals. He's a good ball-handler, shot creator, and shot maker who should step into a much larger role as a junior for Treynor.

DeWinter started a handful of games for the Knights as a sophomore but primarily came off the bench to provide a scoring and playmaking spark. He's a good ball-handler and passer who gets his teammates involved, protects the ball, and can get to the rim off the dribble. Union will be hit hard by graduation, with DeWinter set to be the lone returnee among the top eight scorers, so this will be his team next winter.
