Expert Analysis
Tony Roe | Prep Hoops Scout
DeWinter started a handful of games for the Knights as a sophomore but primarily came off the bench to provide a scoring and playmaking spark. He’s a good ball-handler and passer who gets his teammates involved, protects the ball, and can get to the rim off the dribble. Union will be hit hard by graduation, with DeWinter set to be the lone returnee among the top eight scorers, so this will be his team next winter.

DeWinter showcased the ability to play both with and without the ball in his hands throughout the afternoon, operating as a talented playmaker when he had the ball, and moving well without it, finding open spaces in the defense to knock down shots off the catch. He’s a pure shooter who does a great job getting his feet set and squared before catching. He also showcased some two-way ability, a long, active defender who moves his feet well.
