17u Top Performers At The Mitten State Mash - Part 2

<p>The Prep Hoops Circuit's Mitten State Mash was an excellent collection of talent. There were a number of players from the 17u division that were named "Top Performers" at the event. He was a fearless shooter that had deep range and could dribble into a 3 pointer. Irving could shake defenders, get to the rim and get creative with his finishes when he got there. It wasn't just that he could play at a fast pace, it was that he probably played better at a high speed.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Jones was a Top Performer at Rumble In The Rapids and was again last weekend at the Mitten State Mash. He was a playmaker with the ball in his hands. Jones picked up speed quickly with the ball and really pressured the defense. He showed that he could score in the open floor as well as in a half court set.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Smith showed that he's a player to keep an eye on for the rest of the summer and into next high school season. He's taller with a solid frame. Smith was at his best going straight line to the rim with the ball or rim running without it. He made a lot of plays and showed off a variety of finishes in the open floor when I watched the Jackets Elite.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">We've mentioned Willis before in our coverage and will again. He was a lights out shooter that heated up in a hurry. Willis had a fast shooting motion from catch to follow through. He suffered an injury that seemed to limit him later, but trust me, that's a college jumper.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">This was my second time seeing [player_tooltip player_id='2539883' first='Zavier' last='Scott'] this spring and he impressed me once again. He's an athletic wing with a solid frame. Scott was really comfortable hitting a wing in transition or as a trailer and being shot ready. He's athletic enough to find and get looks at the rim when his team needed him to. Scott really passed the eye test at the Mitten State Mash.</p>
