Windy City War: More 2028/2029 Stand Outs Regardless Of Position

The Prep Hoops Windy City War was back in the Chicago Land area this past weekend. Numerous programs in Illinois and across the Midwest were in attendance through the 3 day event. I took in 20 games worth of action from Romeoville. Here we will take a look at evaluations from some of the top guys I saw compete in the classes of 2028 and 2029.    Malachi has a matured feel for game while handling the ball. Played up 2 classes this weekend as team's primary point. Possesses smooth rhythmic dribbles to orchestrate offense as a scoring point guard. In earl morning game on Saturday he utilized hesitations moves or quick jabs to gain a step on defender. Finishes at the cup with soft touch floaters or runners while also being able to draw fouls and create for others. Has a poised and balanced tempo while being in continuous attack mode.     Saw Brown play a couple of times last Summer and Fall and he continues to up his game. Has gotten stronger and faster than he already was. He'll float between a 2, 3, or 4 based on program need. A positionless player at this stage. Gets downhill with a full head of steam on primary breaks. Endures the physicality around the rim and battles it out on the boards. Converted several difficult finishes in heavy traffic.  He's difficult to guard because he competes intensely in a humble nature.  A competitive selfless prospect to track.     A long mobile 4 or 5 man with legit wingspan and matured height. Made his mark from the short corner and dunker areas to back door cut and then slam home a couple hard 2 handed dunks off 2 feet. Consistent board man that plays with toughness. Stayed active defensively with steals or challenging at the rim. Athletically pops to play above the rim at this stage and runs well above average for age at size and position.     Another [program_tooltip program_id='2452458' first='Ayo' last='Dos Elite'] Combo Guard that was athletically matured and sound above the rest. Impactful on both sides of the ball. Took a hard baseline drive and 1 handed slam and converted on multiple other takes to the cup in transition or through traffic within ½ court setting. Likes to initiate break immediately off of defensive boards. Rebounding wise will crash from the guard spot and has the bounce to be a difference maker in that phase as well. Will be on coach's watch lists for the next 3 years of high school if not already.     Paced for team high 25 in squad's last game of weekend. Comfortable playing in an up tempo contest. 3 level scorer. Tallied him for 3 trey balls, a couple pull up jumpers from mid range, and getting to the cup on primary phase. Put on ball defender in a spin cycle for a smooth finish. Has efficient finishing touch in traffic as a guard. Goes off the bounce into shot at a solid rate. Could be slotted into a point or 2 man dependent upon program need. Disciplined ball handler with a knack for putting the ball in the hoop.
