Virginia 2027 Forwards to Watch This Spring

The 2027 class in Virginia continues to take shape, with a number of intriguing forwards beginning to separate themselves heading into the upcoming spring evaluation period. As college coaches shift their attention from the transfer portal back to high school and grassroots play, here's a look at a handful of junior forwards poised to improve their recruitment this spring.    A strong, versatile forward, he brings inside-out skill to the offensive end and can impact the game in multiple ways. He rebounds well and is capable of pushing the break himself, adding value in transition where he finishes above the rim. He plays with a high motor, consistently competing on both ends of the floor. A First Team All-Region selection for Atlee this season, he has proven production to go with his physical tools and versatility.     A hard-playing, strong combo forward, Johnson does most of his damage around the rim where he uses his physicality and motor to finish through contact. He rebounds at a high rate on both ends, consistently pursuing the ball and creating extra possessions. His toughness, effort, and interior production make him a reliable presence in the frontcourt.     Giles is a hard playing, strong, and highly productive forward who consistently impacts the game with his physicality and motor. He does most of his damage inside the arc, where he finishes efficiently and rebounds at a high rate, but also shows the ability to step out and knock down open perimeter jumpers. The Region Player of the Year, he averaged nearly 20 points and over 8 rebounds per game this season, highlighting his consistent production. Giles will look to carry that momentum into the spring with Hill City Clash.     One of the more intriguing frontcourt prospects in the state's 2027 class, Stinney combines good mobility with high-level athleticism and runs the floor with ease. He impacts the game defensively with his ability to alter and contest shots, using his length and timing effectively. Offensively, he can score on the block and also shows the skill to step out and knock down an open jumper from beyond the arc. With his blend of size, movement, and developing versatility, he has significant upside as a versatile frontcourt prospect.     Sidbury is a post player who plays with a high motor and consistent physicality. He's an efficient finisher in the paint, using good footwork and strength to score through contact. He rebounds his area well and competes on both ends of the floor, bringing toughness and reliability to the frontcourt.
