Earlier this week we released the updated 2028 rankings. Here are eight more New Additions:

[player_tooltip player_id='3581646' first='Omar' last='Apachito'], To'jahiilee: Apachito emerged as one of the top scorers in Class 1A this past season. He averaged 20.2 points per game for the Warriors. He scored over 500 points and buried nearly 60 3-pointers, an average of more than two per game.

[player_tooltip player_id='3582862' first='David' last='Blackmon'], Hondo Valley: Blackmon enjoyed a solid sophomore campaign both scoring and rebounding for the Eagles. He averaged 11.2 points and 6.2 rebounds per game. He averaged over one 3-pointer per game. He was especially prolific crashing the offensive glass, averaging over three OR per game.

[player_tooltip player_id='3581672' first='Monty' last='Crisp'], Des Moines: Another player who enjoyed a solid sophomore campaign on the offensive side of the ball. Averaged 11.2 points and about two 3-pointers per game. He scored over 300 points for the Demons.

Kolty Nixon, Animas: It was a tough season for Animas from a win-loss perspective, but Nixon individually had a good season by averaging 13.5 points and 5.0 rebounds per game. The positive news for Animas is many young players gained valuable experience inb 2025-26, something that could pay dividends next season.

[player_tooltip player_id='3270578' first='Aiden' last='Riley'], Raton: Promoted from the Raton JV team after the 2025-26 season started, Riley proved he belonged at the varsity level. He averaged 10.5 points and 4.4 rebounds for the Tigers in 21 varsity games.

[player_tooltip player_id='2894524' first='Mateo' last='Torrez'], Escalante: Earned Honorable Mention All-State honors after finishing second on Escalante in scoring (12.0 ppg), rebounding (6.5 rpg) and steals (1.8). Helped the Lobos earn the No. 7 seed in the Class 2A playoffs.

[player_tooltip player_id='3581662' first='Elias' last='Valencia'], Bernalillo: Bernalillo had a challenging season with a young roster, but Valencia stepped up to average 15.9 points per game for the Spartans. They've already named a new head coach for next season, so there's reason for optimism in Bernalillo.

[player_tooltip player_id='3581660' first='Jaiden' last='Yazzie'], Dulce: Displaying exemplary all-around skills, Yazzie helped Dulce win 17 games and earn a berth in the Class 2A state tournament by averaging about 18 points, 4 rebounds, 4 steals and 3 assists per game. The good news for Dulce is the Hawks return everybody from their roster this past season, so the valuable experience could pay dividends in 2026-27 with a deeper state tournament run.
