Underrated 15U Prospects from the Sooner State Special

The Sooner State Special gave us a lot of names to remember in the 15U division. The following group provided noteworthy performances and are players to watch moving forward this summer. These players continue to elevate their game and showcase a variety of strengths that they hope to continue to build on moving forward.    Darby gave us a snapshot of his growing skill set for a big man. He was able to run the floor well and finish off some easy baskets on Saturday morning. Darby can also be an anchor on defense with his ability to block shots and protect the rim. When perimeter defense broke down, he was able to help keep ball handlers away from the cup with his positioning and length. Jacob also showed us a confident, smooth release as a shooter from beyond the arc.     Peterson has a quick release and unlimited range outside the arc. He is able to find space and remain shot-ready on the perimeter. On Saturday morning, he was able to put together a strong performance against a very good C4 Attack team. Cameron consistently moved without the ball and found space against the zone defensive looks that he saw. In the second half, he began to also attack off the bounce and in transition. Peterson pairs well with fellow guard Kemaurian Bennett as they both bring a toughness and mentality to 1 Nation.     Peach was very consistent for Team Oklahoma this past weekend. He showed an ability to stretch the defense with a smooth 3-point shot, as well as being extremely active on defense. Peach plays with active hands and was able to force turnovers with his overall activity on that end. The freshman can handle the ball and well and pushed pace after forcing turnovers in the afternoon session of games for his squad. His ability to navigate past defenders while keeping his eyes up helped him to find teammates for easy scoring opportunities.     Lakdawala is an aggressive offensive player who provides playmaking and shooting for his Hard Hoops Gold team. On Saturday afternoon, the freshman had back-to-back incredible performances in which he showed his ability to handle to ball and cut hard to the pain. Sahil played composed and utilized both head and ball fakes to navigate and score inside against length. When he is able to put it all together and compliment his outside shooting, he is able to put pressure on the defense and give his team energy on the offensive end.     Aitken complimented the slashing ability of both Benson and Reed with his shooting from the outside. C4 Attack looked for him on multiple occasions in baseline drift situations when other perimeter players broke down the defense. Aitken does well we can he can shoot off the catch. His ability to find space and move to create openings to get his shot off quickly give his team a good potion when opponents begin to pack the paint. Look for the sophomore to continue to develop around his shooting ability by putting the ball on the deck more. If he can continue to get more comfortable attacking closeouts, look for him to take a big step this summer.
