LADERA RANCH — Session 1 of the adidas-led 3SSB circuit tipped off last Friday morning with some of the top prospects from around the country making their way to OGP Ladera for the three-day event. We got our eyes on a number of nationally-ranked prospects and some unranked players who could see their names in the Top 150 at some point within the next year. In this piece we pick our Third Team All Session 1 performers at the 17u level.

*Important Notes: To keep it California-centric, each All-Session 1 team will contain at least ONE player from the state. The selections are based on the ability for the five-man squad to be able to function together on the floor. Team record and individual statistics are equally considered for selection.

G: Jordan Hunter | 2027 | Team Loaded

Hunter is a no-nonsense type of player whose balanced approach to the game, combined with his confidence and toughness, led to him being effective on both sides of the floor. The 6-foot-2 point guard did a little bit of everything from setting the table for teammates with paint touches, scoring himself at the rim or on pull-up jumpers and defended his position at a high level throughout the weekend. The Hargrave Military Academy product averaged 14.5 points, 4.3 assists and 4.0 rebounds per game as Team Loaded went 3-1 on the weekend.

G: [player_tooltip player_id='2102286' first='Tre' last='Keith'] | 2027 | Anthony Edwards Five

Keith is one of those natural scoring guards whose numbers translate well to the next level. The 6-foot-2 combo guard is an aggressive downhill attacker in transition who can finish with crafty layups or physical, through contact buckets. Keith also flows smoothly into pull-up three-point shots and has the shiftiness and ball-handling ability to break down defenders in isolation. Keith averaged 23 points per game in leading Anthony Edwards to a 3-1 record, including a 35-point, six 3FG effort in a win over Power 5.

WF: Deng Ngor | 2027 | Lu Dort Elite

Ngor isn't getting the accolades he deserves from Session 1 and that's probably due to his stats not being available on the 3SSB website. We watched the Canadian-based wing multiple times and he showed that he might be one of the best long term prospects on the entire circuit. The 6-foot-7 wing is an explosive vertical athlete who covered ground in transition with long strides and glided his way to the rim for high percentage finishes. Ngor was also a big time lob threat, a versatile perimeter defender and showed the ball skills and feel to create in isolation.

F: Joshua Leonard | 2027 | Upward Stars

When it comes to high energy, effort and motor, look no further than Leonard to be the embodiment of those traits. The 6-foot-7 forward was a beast on the offensive and defensive glass, out-worked his opponent in transition offense, beat them to 50/50 balls and finished everything around the rim with toughness and physicality. Leonard averaged 19.8 points and 8.5 rebounds per game on the weekend, including a 34-point, 16-rebound effort in a win over Phenom United.

F/C: [player_tooltip player_id='2838662' first='Brandon' last='Hahn'] | 2027 | Lakeshow

We wrote about Hahn in our Under-The-Radar CA W/F/C piece and he was one of the breakout players of Session 1. The 6-foot-8 junior out of Northern California showed a multi-faceted offensive package with the ability to stretch the floor to the three-point line or score with touch and physicality around the rim. Hahn showed good footwork and mobility as a screener and roller and when popping behind-the-arc. He also competed defensively and on the defensive boards.
