Even though it's very early in the Spring basketball season, teams are getting their footing and players are working right where they left off from their prep seasons. One of the true big men of the weekend with a lot of physical might. Malik has matured size, coordination, and skill for age. Overwhelms defenders when he has the ball in his hands in the paint. Has lower body strength that is equally valuable to his upper body. Endures physicality taking on any challenge. Willingly will handle if necessary. Rim runs with pace and instinct. Plays above the rim with power. Slammed home multiple dunks on breakaways with one being for a reversal alley oop finish. Had multiple swats throughout the day. One of the most poised and patient guys I saw this weekend with the rock. Got out of messy situations smoothly and still made the right read. Scoring wise was very versatile. Knocked down multiple 3's, a couple mid range jays, and got to the cup for finishes in an efficient manner. Scored it effectively with spin moves and drop steps going through traffic. Makes a strong impact on the glass. Will draw fouls and create second chance opportunities for himself and others. Volume producer around the rim for multiple finishes at an efficient rate. Possessed a strong work ethic on the glass with a competitive nature.
