PH Madness in the Midwest: Pick's Early Action Standouts

A loaded event in Appleton full of 16u players with a lot of potential. Friday night and early Saturday action had the Champions' Center buzzing with three point shot makers and bucket getters in the 2028 class. Let's breakdown and highlight my early action standouts.    Fischer is one of the many talented scoring options for the [program_tooltip program_id='2076023' first='Wisconsin' last='Academy']-Riley squad. A combo guard in the truest definition, Braydon was making plays all over the floor and dishing out some impressive assists in the process. Fischer is part of the returning team state qualifying team at McFarland, and looks poised to take the next step going into his junior campaign. Braydon canned deep triples off the bounce and out of pick and roll opportunities in his game on Friday night versus Illinois Force. When he is not scoring, Fischer is tremendous at leading the Academy transition offense with sound court vision. I was impressed with Braydon's ability to generate deflections and heat up the ball handlers on the defensive end as well.     Bramble is another two-way impact player for [program_tooltip program_id='2076023' first='Wisconsin' last='Academy']-Riley. The six-foot-one guard from Beloit Turner is an extremely strong finisher around the basket using a good balance of overall quickness and good footwork. Bramble was getting after it on the glass on Friday night, securing boards on the defensive end to start the Academy break, and generating extra opportunities on the o-glass with his nose for the basketball. Hayden was able to knock down a perimeter shot, and find his teammates on some assists in this game. Bramble guards the basketball with tenacity and was able to disrupt Illinois Attack's offense to lead WA to a 64-34 victory.     TenPas, who attends Sheboygan North is an elite shot maker from the perimeter. In the 8:00am game, Nolan came out on fire from downtown, draining four perimeter triples with his smooth and quick release left handed release. TenPas is known for his perimeter shooting, but the five-foot-eleven sophomore has developed over the past year with his playmaking skills and his ability to finish strong off of two feet. Nolan had some spectacular passes to his teammates in transition and in the half court in their rout of the [program_tooltip program_id='2839421' first='Milwaukee' last='Young Bucks'], while playing under control with sound footwork. TenPas should be a player to watch moving forward this club season, and into his junior season in the FRCC.       Newman is certainly a guard prospect to monitor the rest of his spring with his wide range skillset and overall athleticism. Newman was in passing lanes, generating deflections, anticipating reversal passes, and pressuring his on ball matchup to really stand out on the defensive end. Kendall utilized his athleticism and advanced skill set on the offensive end to convert some pretty tough finishes. Newman utilized a nice swing step, and patience footwork to explode at the rim through and around contact. An underrated skill with his game, was his ability to read closeouts and attack the rim at the right time. The prospect from Wisco, has no off-switch and plays extremely hard regardless of the score on the board.     An unknown to me coming into his game against West Central United, Nineman was impressive despite his team falling in the win/loss column. Ninneman attends Sheboygan South, and competes with a high motor and intensity. Ninneman showed his ability to score in the three levels by knocking down some triples, attacking the rim, and finding his shot in some mid range opportunities, to propel himself to 13 points in the first half. Parker is an active offensive rebounder and defender who competes to the final horn in Appleton on Saturday.     Hamilton was another player that stood out for CBA North despite a loss on Saturday. Hamilton was relentless getting downhill and finding his way to smooth finishes. Layton might be CBA North's best three level scorer, as he was able to hit a floater, drill a corner three, and of course probe in the paint to get buckets directly at the rim. Hamilton competes with energy and intensity, creating extra opportunities with his offensive rebounding ability, and doing the little things for Chapman.
