Music City Madness: Saturday Afternoon Standouts

We're back with more standouts from the Prep Hoops Music City Madness event going on just outside of Nashville, Tennessee and there has been a ton of talent on display. Games have been rolling on all six courts all day long so without further delay, let's take a look at the standouts!    Vital put on a shot blocking clinic as he is a super strong interior presence at both ends of the floor. He's got the mobility to run the floor and hustle back in transition when needed, where he is looking to pin everything he can on the glass with emphasis. Vital is really good in the dunker spot as he possesses quality hands and great vertical pop to finish in traffic above the defense. It's genuinely surprising that he's still available with the demand for bigs like him being so high but there's no doubt whoever gets him will be getting a true diamond in the rough. Vital should be one of the top available high school big men in America at this point in time and there should be a long list of suitors vying for his services next season after what we saw from him today.     Barrett put on a shot making clinic in his Shockers 15u teams victory where he was really locked in on the offensive end. Barrett is always shot ready off the catch, operates with poise and feel when he's on the ball, and does a great job connecting the dots for his team on the offensive end of the floor. He brings a sense of reliability with his shot making as he's such a consistent option from distance. He moves well without the ball within the flow of the offense and knows exactly where he needs to be at all times. As Barrett continues to develop physically and get more reps on the ball, expect him to emerge as a gem in Tennessee's 2029 class.     Adams was a really strong presence for this Nashville Stars UAA 2028 group as they've been doing really well while playing up an age group this weekend. He can really help protect the rim for this group while showing flashes of skill in the open floor. He does a great job guarding the post, using his strong frame to shield the opposition from the rim and wall up with his size/length. Offensively he shows quality touch with great vision out of the interior when dealing with pressure from the opponent. He's consistently working on the glass at both ends of the floor leading to extra possessions for his team. It's easy to see why the Kentucky site has him ranked as high as they do with his game being very translatable to the next level with plenty of time to still develop and add new tools to the bag.     Jones showed a lot of his overall game earlier on with Nashville Stars North 16s. Jones possesses the ability to take a game over with his scoring or playmaking, operating with an advanced feel for the game to go with his physical gifts at the PG position. Jones has long arms that he utilizes defensively at a really high level, disrupting opposing ball handlers and staying active in the passing lanes. Jones does a really good job generating high quality shots in the half-court for himself or his teammates with his three level touch and ability to break defenders down off the bounce. It's been a strong start for Jones this weekend as he's building great momentum ahead of the live period next month!     Jones is an undersized post player that brings a really strong physical element to the game even while playing up an age group. He possesses a sturdy but lengthy frame, allowing him to use that shoulder to bump defenders before finishing over them. When engaged, he can be a dominant rebounder, showing flashes of that this afternoon. He really is a nasty and physical player that embraces contact at both ends of the floor, essentially guaranteeing production every time out due to how many freebies he gets on the offensive glass. Jones did a really strong job initiating contact on the offensive end without drawing charges, imposing his will on the opposition. It'll be interesting to see how he develops with his natural physical gifts and time very much on his side in the equation.
