Everything's bigger in Texas and the Lone Star State Showdown delivered a stage that matched it, from high-level guard play to versatile forwards and physical interior bigs. Thompson covered ground like a mad man, chasing down shots in transition for blocks at the rim, sprinting end-to-end and cross court for takeaways in the passing lanes. His defense consistently led to offense, whether through steals or drawing moving screen calls, always influencing the outcome. As a lead guard, Eli Thompson excelled picking defenses apart possession by possession. Thompson's confidence and shot-making made him a constant scoring threat in a multitude of ways. When he got to the basket he initiated contact perfectly, creating and-1s and scoring with strong body strength and control. He nailed jumpers beyond the arc with deep shooting range, showing the ability to knock down shots off the catch or off the dribble under defensive pressure and in open space.

Good size and build at the point guard position, allowing him to absorb contact and maintain balance in tight spaces, showing elite footwork, whether off one or two feet, he got the same result, he consistently found a way to finish, getting to his spots and converting at the rim. Nelson displayed a strong understanding of pace and deceleration, especially in traffic or closing windows. [player_tooltip player_id='2853260' first='Beckham' last='Nelson'] polished hop steps, stride stops, and sudden brakes to keep defenders off balance and create clean finishing angles, converting comfortably off two feet, giving him control, stability, and the ability to adjust midair or through contact to complete plays.

All-around point guard skillset. The game has slowed down for him, allowing him to make plays at will, facilitating, setting teammates up, and creating separation for jumpers off the bounce with misdirections and hesitations. Good footwork in swing scenarios, spotting up and hopping into rhythm for deep catch-and-shoot attempts where he proved to be efficient. When Henry penetrated, he fully committed to the drive until something opened up, if the defense collapsed, he swiftly kicked; if his man stayed attached, he smoothly floated it; and once he got his defender on his hip, he finished at the rack with touch.

Tuttle saw the game fast and two steps ahead of everyone else, operating with advanced feel. As a play initiator, he read the help-side and backline defenders effectively, leading to him setting teammates up with early shot attempts within the offense and open looks after drawing attention. At his size, Tuttle defended well in space, showing grit, active hands, and toughness as he cut off drives with his lateral quickness, forcing his man sideline or baseline and disrupting angles.

Natural basketball player, simply produces off instincts alone, taking whatever the game gives him and making the most out of it. He was excellent playing within the flow of the game, passing and getting everyone involved while keeping the offense connected. Played the passing lanes like a defensive back, backpedaling, sprinting, and jumping through lanes for steals in full-court pressure situations. His intense on-ball pressure forced countless turnovers, whether it was clean rips, crowding space until his man went out of bounds or lost control, or laying out for the ball, sliding and diving everywhere doing anything he could to secure it. He even raised his level of energy and urgency when the game was on the line and the clock was winding down, impacting winning plays.

Everything's bigger in Texas and the Lone Star State Showdown delivered a stage that matched it, from high-level guard play to versatile forwards and physical interior bigs. The games were fast-paced and highly competitive throughout the weekend, with several prospects rising to the occasion and embracing the moment.
