Leo 2029 Post Henderson Has All Tools You Look for in Young Post

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Leo 2029 post <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2964028' first='Elon' last='Henderson'] </strong>is the top post player early on in the Illinois class.&nbsp; He has a lot of tools to work with at his size, length, and with plus athleticism.&nbsp; When he uses quick moves around the hoop and rim runs he is a force.&nbsp; Really like what he brings as a defender being able to block shots.&nbsp; Also on the offensive end can stretch the floor.&nbsp; He was the main interior presence on a team that made it to the state semi finals during his freshman campaign.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>“My freshman year making it to state was a crazy experience.&nbsp; That was the first time we had been down state since 2016.&nbsp; I really enjoyed it.”</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>He was not intimidated at all under the bright lights going up against East St. Louis as he recorded 8 points (3-5 FG), 4 rebounds, and 2 blocks in limited minutes.&nbsp; It was his defensive presence that caught our attention most.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>“The experience for me individually was crazy because I didn't expect those moments to happen for me.&nbsp; I was going out there and focusing on my defensive role.”</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Henderson has been in the gym working on developing his all-around game.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>“Since my 8^th grade year my game has gotten tremendously better because I have been doing individual work with coaches and training sessions.”</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Playing with Brad Beal Elite 15U this summer he has already seen he needs to continue to elevate playing with and against national talent.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>“It is really pushing me to play faster.&nbsp; I am playing against some of the top players in the country so I have to step up.”</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>He will be part of a Leo squad that returns pretty much their entire guard core and should be one of the favorites to return to Champaign in 3A!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
