2029 Stock Boosters at Sooner State Special

With the Sooner State Special now complete, we wanted to do one final wrap up and take a look at some players that elevated themselves with solid showings at the event. These 15U athletes all contributed at a high level for their club teams in Edmond this past weekend. Let's dive into the players and breakdown how they performed.    Johnson showed his versatility at the Sooner State Special, playing for Hard Hoops Grey. At 6'3", he can play both inside and outside. Cooper showed that he can facilitate and even bring the ball up the floor when needed to. Johnson can space the floor in half court settings and has an efficient outside shot. The freshman provided defensive rebounding and left the weekend as the leading rebound for his club. His stroke also translates to the foul stripe. As someone that can handle to ball and hit free throws he becomes that much more important as someone that his team cannot afford to have off the court down the stretch of games.     Granger is a very good passer and shows solid feel for his size. He operates well from both the high post and the low block. At 6'8" he can see over defenders and is at his best when he takes his time. Granger plays under control and did an exceptional job throughout the tournament of looking opposite and finding open shooters as the defense collapsed on him. Braylon is at his best as a scorer when he can operate over his left shoulder in the paint. His poise and ability to not press his limits and create offensive fouls is very impressive. Look for the freshman to continue to work on his conditioning as the summer months roll on.     Hutchison showed his high basketball IQ throughout the weekend competing for Hard Hoops Grey. He is an extremely unselfish offensive player that is able to see plays open up before they fully develop. Hutchison showed flashes of good touch with his floater in the paint, complimenting his passing. Throughout the day on Saturday, he regularly created open shots for others as he made the extra pass on the offensive end.     Collins is a well built wing player that uses his body well. He is able to play through contact and puts a lot of pressure on defenders when he is attacking the goal in transition. Elijah is also a great teammate that showed a high level of communication for Hard Hoops Gold. Collins is also a willing defender that shows effort and discipline on that end of the floor. He was a key piece in the win over C4 Attack, showing an ability to handle the ball and score against length and pressure.     The Plano East forward helps to spearhead MOGP's full court pressure. His length and athleticism lend itself to this style of play as he was able to force errant passes and turnovers on Friday night in Edmond. His size also gave MOGP a big boost with his versatility on defense. With only one other player taller than 6'1", he was counted on the provide rebounding in the paint. Look for his offensive game to continue to ascend as he showed a good mix of ball handling and touch around the rim against Defenders Elite.
