The Commonwealth Basketball Group was back with another event this past weekend, featuring some of the top teams from all over the state of VA. Here's a look at seven of the top 17U standouts at the event.

[player_tooltip player_id='2815344' first='Eduardo' last='Marra'] | 6'5” WF | Team Richmond

Marra was a breakout player at the event, as the 6'5” wing impressed college coaches and scouts with his mix of versatility and production against some high level competition. The 6'5” wing showed his ability to handle the rock and get to spots in the midrange and at the rim to finish, he shot the ball well from deep off the catch, and he made plays for others showing good vision and passing ability too.

[player_tooltip player_id='3275748' first='Bodi' last='Corley'] | 6'7” PF | Team Richmond

Corley was one of the more athletic big men you would come across in the event, as the 6'7” post showed not only his ability to dominate the paint but also his ability to play in the mid-post and on the perimeter too. He is an explosive finisher above the rim from a stand still and when he gets downhill, he rebounds well on both ends and is a good rim protector, and he showed the ability to work in the high post as a shot maker and a distributor too.

[player_tooltip player_id='2548293' first='Conner' last='Wilcox'] | 6'6” PF | Team Richmond

Wilcox is one of the more consistent and productive players every time we see him, so it was no surprise that he was just that at the CBG event against some very good bump. The 6'6” forward is a walking mismatch who can stretch the floor with his shooting and make good passes on the perimeter, he showed a lot of improvement in his ability to put it on the deck and create shots, and he showed his willingness to bang in the paint and rebound as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='2353632' first='Makai' last='Ragland'] | 6'6” WF | Local Legends NXT

Ragland has been one of the best players in the Charlottesville area over the past three seasons, and if he plays the way he did this past weekend he's set for a huge summer that coaches will get to know him for sure. The 6'6” wing showed his versatility as he had some very impressive athletic finishes around the rim, he made shots from deep at a good clip off the catch, and he showed his ability to guard multiple positions and lock down perimeter scorers as well.

Shemar Curley | 6'6” F | Local Legends NXT

Curley had a very good season at STAB, and the way he played this past weekend I think he'll impress coaches with his mix of athleticism, size and skill as a hybrid forward who can impact the game in a lot of different ways. He played with a great motor fighting for rebounds and loose balls on both ends of the floor, he showed his ability to get to the rim both off of cuts and off the bounce to get easy buckets in the paint, and he showed he can make open shots from multiple levels too.

[player_tooltip player_id='3540621' first='Jayden' last='Brown'] | 6'3” CG | Local Legends NXT

Brown was one of the breakout players in the entire state this season with STAB, and while he got off to a bit of a slow start this past weekend he picked it up and showed his two way impact on the perimeter. He shot the ball well from deep both off the catch and off the bounce, he showed his speed in the open floor and his ability to blow by defenders and get to the rim, and he was a lock down defender on the other team's best player as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='1987443' first='Jaden' last='Amoah'] | 5'11” PG | Higher Level

Amoah was impressive at the event with some very good performances against some very good teams, as the 5'11” guard showed his ability to create for himself and others while setting the tone on both ends of the floor. He is a lightning quick guard with a great first step and blow by speed to get downhill, he finished well around the rim and through contact, he made plays for others showing good vision and a high IQ, and he guarded the ball well making opposing ball handlers uncomfortable too.
