Our sport never plays under brighter lights than those of the Murphy Center in March. During the final week of the 2025-2026 season the six players below clearly raised their ranking (in forthcoming updates). [player_tooltip player_id='2194475' first='Braylon' last='Williams'] (Bartlett), [player_tooltip player_id='1296308' first='Reid' last='Conley'] (Chattanooga Prep) and [player_tooltip player_id='3467771' first='Tavion' last='Foster'] (Chattanooga Prep) each earned their first State Championships.

3/21/26: District MVP [player_tooltip player_id='2495403' first='Nick' last='Steen'] completely bullied Alcoa's Tornados in the lane. Alcoa stars [player_tooltip player_id='2281200' first='Jay' last='Kirk'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2260983' first='Jamir' last='Dean'] each picked up their third foul early in the second quarter thanks in large part to the work around the rim by the powerful Steen. With a lowered shoulder Nick busted into the lane and drew a fourth on [player_tooltip player_id='2260983' first='Jamir' last='Dean'] late in the third quarter. [player_tooltip player_id='2495403' first='Nick' last='Steen'] plays kidn of like a throwback guard, a guard from the 1990's in that he does his damage in traffic and around the rim, but under the basket. He is an athlete, but leans on his power not hops most games. "I tried my best to get myself going," said [player_tooltip player_id='2495403' first='Nick' last='Steen'] afterwards.

3/21/26: In a must-win game,,,THE must-win game [player_tooltip player_id='1296308' first='Reid' last='Conley'] played incredibly well. He buried challenged three-pointers, blocked five shots, and paced Chattanooga Prep patiently. His dominance displayed the years of skill work Conley put in. Reid was pretty good all week though his shooting in the quarterfinals stunk (4-17 FG). He helped with a special eight assists that morning as Chattanooga defeated Peabody thanks to a 21-point second quarter. Entering April [player_tooltip player_id='1296308' first='Reid' last='Conley'] is absolutely a Top 3 uncommitted point guard in the state. With his ability to shoot he could also play a combo guard for most college programs.

3/21/26: Short sophomore guard [player_tooltip player_id='3562839' first='Chaz' last='Wood'] does not look like much of a terror, but his shooting against Alcoa Saturday stunned. Wood made three three-pointers in the low-scoring game's first 22 minutes.

3/21/26: Too smoov. Braylon moves around the floor like a college guard. he catches it all full speed and makes wonderful decisions at top speed. Williams played, as he always has, with an uncanny maturity. The sophomore never appears rattled regardless of the enormity of the moment. Bartlett's starting point guard aided BHS Head Coach Dion Real in his quest for his first state championship. Now the wonderful collector of talent Coach Real is a State Champion as well as former middle school superstar [player_tooltip player_id='2194475' first='Braylon' last='Williams'].

3/21/26: Tremendous week for [player_tooltip player_id='2754640' first='Zach' last='Davis']. The guy just produced. Fans along i-75 knew of this physical, athletic, versatile scoring guard the last two years, but few middle Tennessee or Memphis-area families saw Zach's dominance until this 2026 State Tournament. During Walker Valley's penetration to the Championship Game Davis performed masterfully each step of the way. Davis scored a game-high 21 points in the 18-point win over Farragut High in the state quarters and a game-high 18 points in Walker Valley's conquering of the gigantic Whitehaven Tigers Friday. In the crushing loss to Bartlett for the title, Zach paced everyone with 24 points (8-14 FG's). Consider Zach shot 50% from the floor against two teams filled with future junior college and division 1 athletes, most of them 6-foot-3 or taller.

3/26/26: In his first year with Chattanooga Prep, Tavion helped the Sentinels capture their third consecutive state title. Afterwards he mentioned that he played most of February with an injury and finally felt full explociviness back in his legs.
