The Lions extended the margin in the second quarter behind aggressive interior scoring and transition offense, taking a 28–11 halftime lead. Hyde Park showed some life in the third quarter, led by Amare Leflore and [player_tooltip player_id='2962331' first='Lonnie' last='Mosley'], who helped spark a brief offensive push as the Thunderbirds scored 14 points in the period. However, Leo's defense continued to force tough shots and turnovers, allowing the Lions to maintain control heading into the final quarter with a 40–25 advantage. Leo closed the game out comfortably in the fourth quarter, using its depth and paint scoring to secure the 21-point win.</p>
