Regional Semis Player Notes – Fitzgerald v. Farmington

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>There was some great basketball action last night in the regional semifinals at Detroit Renaissance. The first game featured Warren Fitzgerald and Farmington. It was a defensively dominated game featuring a couple mini runs each way. He showed the ability to dominate the glass on both ends of the floor even collecting 4 offensive rebounds in a single possession. Burtin is intelligently unselfish with the ball. He chose when to attack last night and made plays when his team needed them. Burtin was great hedging the screen and used his wingspan when trapping. He hit a few triples in the game and they came from all over the arc, including from the top and from the corner. I thought Shipp did some of those things that earned the W. I liked the way he moved the ball and swung it on the perimeter. The ball didn't stick in his hands and forced the defense to react and rotate. Smith is a big strong kid that has a presence around the rim. He was active on the glass all night. He played downhill last night and it led to good things, Graham played as a slasher, drawing a foul on a floater and pulling up for a free throw line jumper.
