Burtin has that star power to his game. He showed the ability to dominate the glass on both ends of the floor even collecting 4 offensive rebounds in a single possession. Burtin is intelligently unselfish with the ball. He chose when to attack last night and made plays when his team needed them. Burtin was great hedging the screen and used his wingspan when trapping. He was always the first to hit the floor for a loose ball.

Burtin and his Warren Fitgerald team will take on Farmington in the regional semis. Farmington has a lot of options offensively and Burtin will be critical in slowing the attack. His backside defense and ability to alter shots or all together deny them will be big. Burtin is one of those rare players that can take over a game from the defensive end.

Burtin is an intriguing player and prospect. On defense, he can protect the rim, altering and blocking shots. He just has the length and verticality to be a menace on D. Burtin is developing his game nicely on the offensive end. He can finish above the rim with force.

Burtin is just a really talented player. His shot wasn’t falling, but his elite talent and upside still stood out. Not even necessarily counting, I noticed about 7 offensive rebounds for Burtin. That’s a lot of extra possessions. He did have a nice mid range bucket early in the game and showed his rim protecting skills with a block.

This helps him rebound high and be a force on the glass. Burtin looks for the block and sends shots back to where they came from.
