The season has concluded in the PIL and the All-League honors will be announced in the near future. Who will be named the Player of the Year? Here's a look at the top candidates (listed in alphabetical order).

Grant's attack was multi-faced and spread out among its top five players, but if there's one guy who could be selected just barely above the others it might be Harper-Grant. The sophomore guard showed he could get baskets from practically anywhere on the court and his ability to drive, draw contact, and then convert from the free throw line proved to be valuable for the co-champs of the PIL.

Hopkins-McGlothen came into high school with a lot of accolades and he more than lived up to billing, essentially emerging as the top players on a squad that tied for the league title. The freshman lefty showed he could score in creative ways at all three levels and was also a force to be reckoned with on the boards. There's never been a freshman that has won POY honors in the PIL - Hopkins-McGlothen has the resume to be the first.

A lot of younger players had to step up this season for Roosevelt but one of the few experienced guys returning was Kim and he arose to the challenge. Despite being undersized height-wise, the senior used his motor and athleticism to make up for that and posted some big games both scoring and rebounding-wise against tough opponents for a Roughriders squad that may have exceeded expectations in many ways.

After losing the 2024-25 season to injury, Novy-Hildesley exploded back onto the scene as a senior and was the league's most dominant inside force. He simply used his devastating combination of strength and athleticism to score over and through defenses in the paint and was also dominant with his rebounding. He could be the slight favorite to capture POY awards, especially as a senior.

Wells made a huge run in the second half of league play and leading the charge was Surur. The senior guard was the team's leading scorer during that time period and when defenses honed in on stopping him, he capably shifted gears and looked to get teammates involved. He utilized his quickness on defense effectively to create turnovers and exhibited leadership on both ends of the floor.

https://poll.fm/16696334
